Farmers & Merchants’ net income continued to increase under Walker’s watch in the first quarter of 2022, increasing to $72.6 million from $70.5 million in the first quarter of 2021. The bank was founded by Walker’s great-grandfather C.J. Walker in 1907. Daniel Walker held nearly every position at the company before becoming chief executive in 2008. He serves as an advisory director for the YMCA of Greater Long Beach and as an emeritus director for the Memorial Medical Center Foundation of Long Beach.
