Pasadena-based Tetra Tech Inc. announced Wednesday that it was among a group of companies awarded a $950 million contract by the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers.
The five-year contract with the Department of Defense will be to provide environmental remediation, or removal of pollutants services from the environment.
“Tetra Tech has supported the U.S. Army’s environmental clean-up programs for two decades,” Dan Batrack, Tetra Tech’s chief executive, said.
The company said it would work on identifying, recovering and remediating hazardous, toxic and radiological waste, focusing in regions in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Six other contractors will split the award amount. Early this month, Tetra Tech announced it had received $356 million contract to provide engineering and technical support services to the Federal Aviation Administration.
