Australian luxury fashion house Zimmermann last month opened its latest boutique at The Commons at Calabasas. The new location is the brand’s eighth in the state, joining stores in Beverly Hills, Pacific Palisades and San Francisco.
The boutique opens with Zimmermann’s Fall 2025 ready-to-wear collection and continues the label’s strategy of building immersive retail environments that complement its online presence and international wholesale partnerships. Founded in Sydney in 1991 by sisters Nicky and Simone Zimmermann, the company has built an international following with its flowing dresses and printed swimwear.
In 2011, the brand opened its first U.S. boutique on Robertson Boulevard in Beverly Hills.
‘A natural fit’
“California has always felt like a natural fit for Zimmermann – the sense of optimism, the light, the energy,” said Nicky Zimmermann, who is creative director, in a statement. “We’re excited to open in Calabasas and create a beautiful space for our clients to discover our new collections in a relaxed and inspiring setting.”
The Calabasas boutique was designed by longtime collaborators Studio McQualter to reflect the Mediterranean open-air plaza at The Commons.
The opening is the most recent in a wave of Zimmermann store openings supercharged by its 2023 majority stake sale to private equity investors Advent International. At the time, Advent valued the brand at more than $1 billion, Vogue Business reported. Following the sale, the brand announced seven new U.S. retail locations and more recently forecasted 15% growth for 2025.
