Westfield Century City will welcome one more dining concept from Asia in the new year.
TTFB Co. Ltd., one of the highest-ranking chain restaurant operators in Taiwan by market cap, is opening a location for its brand Very Thai. The U.S. flagship will officially open in January, which marks the Thai restaurant’s debut outside Asia since its 1990 conception.
The Century City location will cover 5,000 square feet, featuring 131 seats, a full bar and a private dining area.
“Los Angeles, with its incredible food scene and global influence, is the perfect place to begin our U.S. journey, and we are honored to share that same spirit and authentic Thai flavors with American diners,” said Charles Hsu, founder and chairman of TTFB, in a statement.
A global expansion
TTFB also plans to use the L.A. location as a launch point to open new branches in the U.S. The restaurant group, which owns more than 150 locations in Asia with nine popular brands, saw increased sales for the last few years leading to 2024, when its total revenue reached $190 million.
The Taiwanese restaurant operator is tapping into a hot market. The North American Asian Food & Hospitality Industry Association valued the U.S. Asian food market at about $37.2 billion in 2024, projected to reach $51.3 billion by 2031 at a compound annual growth rate of 4.7%.
