Skincare brand Murad Inc. of El Segundo announced plans Tuesday to open its first retail location on Third Street near Miracle Mile.

The 1,500-square-foot flagship store is expected to open next month. Shoppers can expect to find the company’s full range of skincare products as well as services such as its YouthCam Evaluations, a high-definition camera that measures things such as lines, wrinkles and sun spots.

Richard Murad, the company’s general manager, said the store will help position the brand to be known for more than just its topical skincare products.

“We hope the new store will act as a brand building billboard to show Murad at its best and drive awareness and traffic to all our retail partners,” he said in an email.

The company was founded in 1989 by dermatologist Howard Murad, Richard Murad’s uncle. The company is preparing to relocate its global headquarters this month to a 45,000-square-foot location near Los Angeles International Airport. It has 385 employees and its products are sold by retailers in more than 35 countries.
