Los Angeles garment workers want to increase pressure on Pleasanton discount chain Ross Dress for Less.
Workers announced a plan to hold a rally next Tuesday in downtown to bring attention to wage theft and health and safety violations at L.A. factories producing for Ross.
The Halloween-themed march is to take place at the corner of Pico Boulevard and Los Angeles Street with stops at Ross Stores on Broadway Boulevard, then ending in front of L.A. City Hall.
Garment workers, members of the Garment Worker Center, and local allies are expected to attend.
The move follows an investigation by the Department of Labor in February into its supplier YN Apparel, which was ordered to pay $212,000 in back wages for employees of its subcontractors.
Garment workers launched its campaign against Ross Stores in May to hold the retailer accountable for conditions in its local supplier factories.
