Multi-level marketing company Herbalife has set up a $90 million fund to extend the company’s growth in China, the downtown-based company announced on Feb. 12.
Herbalife said that that money for the fund was provided by Chinese governments, although it didn’t specify which ones. An email to an Herbalife spokesman wasn’t immediately returned.
The company plans to use the money, in part, to acquire health companies and to open more of its Nutrition Clubs in second- and third-tier cities in China, according to its press release.
