Walt Disney Co. said it had suspended all administrative and store operations in Tokyo in the aftermath of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
Thursday’s decision affects several undamaged locations in Tokyo and the surrounding area. The company had previously said that 28 of its 47 Disney Store locations in the country, including several in Sendai, were closed pending damage assessments.
Tokyo Electric Power Co. has scheduled blackouts in the city to conserve energy. The blackouts are compounding the economic fallout from last week’s magnitude-9 earthquake and tsunami.
