Kate Mantilini in Beverly Hills will be closing its doors next month after 27 years in business.
David and Adam Lewis, sons of founders Harry and Marilyn made the announcement Tuesday. The restaurant’s Woodland Hills location will stay open.
The restaurant, a short walk from the Academy of Motion Pictures’ Samuel Goldwyn Theatre, was a favorite among Hollywood personalities and was even featured in Michael Mann’s 1995 film “Heat.”
Adam Lewis said the restaurant was nearing the end of its lease and couldn’t come to new lease terms with the new building owners.
“There’s a lot of emotion involved,” he said, noting that his father had died last June and the restaurant would be closing that same month this year.
He said the focus will be on managing the Woodland Hills location, but added that he is open to possibly launching another location in the future.
