Dov Charney has been fired by American Apparel Inc., this time for good.
The former chief executive of the downtown Los Angeles apparel manufacturer was officially fired Tuesday after an internal investigation found he violated the terms of his employment agreement.
Charney was suspended from the company in June, but had continued to work as a consultant for the firm, pending an investigation into allegations of various improprieties. With the investigation complete, American Apparel’s board said Tuesday that Charney would not be reinstated.
Paula Schneider, who previously worked as an executive at sportswear company Warnaco Group in New York, has been named chief executive and will begin the role next month.
Charney didn’t respond to a request for comment.
