L.A. pressed juice company Juice Served Here Inc. has shut its retail stores and wholesale business, according to the company.
In a letter on the business’s website, Chief Executive Alex Matthews wrote the company noticed a shift in consumer habits in its stores and within the juice category back in 2015.
“The buzz for cleansing was fading,” Matthews wrote. “Change is the one constant you can rely on and the one thing that must be embraced. It is with sorrow but, having embraced change, also with confidence and optimism, that I am announcing the closure of JSH.”
The first notice of the Juice Served Here’s retail store closings appeared on the Eater L.A. website last week.
The retailer and wholesaler was founded in 2012 and generated $10 million in revenue in 2015, according to Matthews’ letter. At that time, it had nine retail stores, a 25,000-square foot manufacturing facility and multiple wholesale accounts, including Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.
