Marilyn Monroe’s former Brentwood home has sold for $7.25 million – $350,000 more than its asking price of $6.9 million.

The roughly 2,600-square-foot property where Monroe lived and died sold in less than 10 days after hitting the market on April 21, with multiple offers above asking price, according to a release from Beverly-Grove brokerage Mercer Vine.

The four-bedroom, three-bathroom property at 12305 Fifth Helena Drive has undergone some changes since Monroe lived in it, Mercer Vine listing agent Lisa Optican told Vanity Fair. The house was built in 1929.

“But the overall feeling and aesthetic and vibe of what attracted Marilyn to it is still there and you can feel it. … She wanted a home rather than just a big house in Beverly Hills,” Optican said.

Monroe died in her bedroom in 1962 following a reported prescription drug overdose.

Optican told Vanity Fair the seller of the property bought the house in 2012 but never lived there.
