He may have sold household products for just a dollar each, but former 99 Cents Only Stores Chief Executive Stephane Gonthier is listing his Beverly Hills mansion for a whole lot more.

The home that once belonged to Hollywood agent, studio executive, and film producer Freddie Fields, will hit the market on Feb. 21 with a price tag of $13.85 million.

Gonthier purchased the six-bedroom, nine-bathroom property at 704 N. Bedford Drive for $8.1 million in 2014. He invested about $3 million into renovations this year, according to listing agent Rochelle Maize of Nourmand & Associates, who is selling the home for the third time.

Gonthier said the home’s past stoked his imagination when he visited it for the first time.

“It was easy to imagine icons of Hollywood’s glittering golden era casually greeting each other with martinis in hand, and peering into the backyard which showcased beautiful fountains, private courtyards and a koi pond,” he said in an email.

The classic Spanish-style property was an epicenter of Hollywood social life when Fields lived there from 2001 until his death in 2007 at age 84, Maize said. Fields’ widow Corinna sold the home in 2012 for $6.3 million.

Fields lived there after founding talent agency Creative Management Associates in 1960, which counted among its clients Steven Spielberg, Woody Allen, Robert DeNiro, Barbra Streisand, and Robert Redford.
