Medical Development: Kaiser Permanente, an Oakland-based health maintenance organization, has presented plans to the Lancaster City Planning Commission for a 136,000-square-foot specialty care medical office building. The new building is slated on 44 acres located at West Avenue L and Fifth Street West. The building will be able to house more than 60 specialists, including cardiologists, nephrologists and orthopedists, among others.

Shaping Up: Total Woman Gym and Day Spa, a Westlake Village fitness chain for women, has opened a more than 12,000-square-foot facility at the River Oaks Shopping Center in Valencia. The new location, at 24245 Magic Mountain Parkway, is the chain’s 13th club in Southern California.

Property Sale: Heslin Holdings Inc., a Seal Beach real estate acquisition and development firm, has sold an Eagle Rock commercial property for $4.14 million to May Lilly LLC, a Santa Monica investment group. The 4,672-square-foot building, at 2175 Colorado Ave., is leased by Chase Bank.

New Home: Architectural firm Altoon Partners has opened its new downtown L.A. headquarters, at 617 W. Seventh St. Altoon moved to the 15,876-square-foot space from an office on Flower Street.

IPO Plan: LegalZoom.com, a Glendale-based provider of online legal documents and related services, has announced terms for its planned IPO. The company plans to raise $88 million by offering 8 million shares at a price range of $10 to $12. At the midpoint of the proposed range, LegalZoom would command a fully diluted market value of $483 million. The company plans to list on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “LGZ.”

Online Makeover: Got Disability Insurance, a Burbank-based insurance agent, has launched site GotDisabilityInsurance.com to improve service with current and potential customers. Got Disability Insurance offers insurance for several occupations and focuses on disability insurance for dentists and doctors.

New Office: Paramount Investigative Services, a private investigation company, has opened in office in South Pasadena at 1903 Fremont Ave. The firm, owned by Ken Childs, specializes in investigating insurance claims for insurance companies, corporations and law firms.
