Hooked Up: Startup Network Optix Inc., a Burbank software and technology company, has held a $750,000 round of financing to get its video and digital media transfer product to market. Network Optix’s main product is the EVE Media Player, a platform for managing digital files. The funding round was led by Jor Law, a director of Network Optix.

Property Pickup: Arenda Capital Management LLC, a Torrance private-equity firm that invests in and manages real estate properties, and Boston pension fund adviser AEW Capital Management LP have purchased Pasadena retail-office complex the Commons for $21 million from SRO Properties.

RANCHO DOMINGUEZ

Linked Up: Onestop Internet Inc., a Rancho Dominguez provider of e-commerce services, has received a $9.15 million strategic investment from private-equity firm Fung Capital USA. Fung Capital is the private investment arm of Victor and William Fung, controlling shareholders in Li & Fung Ltd., a Hong Kong-based consumer trading group.

NORTHRIDGE

Mall Lease: Sports Authority Inc., an Englewood, Colo., sporting goods retail chain, is joining the Northridge Fashion Center next year. The new store will take the place of Borders, which was closed after the chain liquidated. The mall, which is home to more than 170 retailers, has welcomed several new tenants over the past month including My Fashion Club, Best Buy Mobile, Fanzz and National University.

WEST HILLS

Teamed Up: McCabe Consultants, a West Hills human resources consulting firm, has joined forces with RGEB Employee Benefits, a Woodland Hills health insurance agency, as part of a strategic alliance. The companies will continue to operate independently, but will formalize a longstanding referral relationship. Under the agreement, RGEB will refer HR consulting work to McCabe and receive a small fee, while McCabe will be able to refer companies looking for health insurance benefits to RGEB, and also receive a small fee.

New Handle: Danone Simpson Insurance Services LLC is now operating under DBA Montage Insurance Solutions. Owner Danone Simpson said the business had become known as DSI, and potential customers would not know that it is an insurance company.

KOREATOWN

Name Change: Merging Koreatown banks Nara Bancorp Inc. and Center Financial Corp. have announced the name and logo for their combined financial entity. The new institution will be called BBCN Bank, and was expected to begin trading Dec. 1 under the Nasdaq symbol “BBCN.” The new name is an abbreviation of the proposed name Business Bank of Center and Nara.

BEVERLY HILLS

Sleepy Business: Snoring Center, a Dallas-based chain of snoring and sleep apnea treatment, has opened an outpost in Beverly Hills. The center, which provides minimally invasive, in-office procedures, is at 120 S. Spalding Drive.
