Moving Headquarters: Reason Foundation, a West L.A. libertarian thinktank and publisher of Reason magazine, has purchased a two-story building near Playa Vista to expand its operations. The foundation paid $2.4 million for the property and will occupy the entire building at 5737 Mesmer Ave. Reason Foundation previously leased a smaller office at 3415 S. Sepulveda Blvd.

Digital Expansion: LIN TV Corp., a Providence, R.I., multimedia company, has opened a West Los Angeles office to expand its digital operations to the West Coast. The office at 6701 Center Drive will specialize in entertainment projects.

REDONDO BEACH

Data Center: Internap Network Services Corp., an Atlanta information technology company, has opened an energy-efficient data center in Redondo Beach. The center will house servers and is expected to serve Los Angeles companies in the entertainment, gaming and technology industries.

TORRANCE

Patent Granted: InjectAbility Institute, a training facility for plastic surgeons, has received patent approval for an anti-aging injection technique. The technique is called ArqueDerma Artistic Restoration Lift and uses dermal fillers to restore facial volume and improve the appearance of hollows in a patient’s face due to age.

AGOURA HILLS

Hotel Renovation: A multimillion-dollar renovation has been completed at Sheraton Agoura Hills Hotel. The renovation included updates to all of the hotel’s public areas, including the lobby, fitness center, outdoor pool, restaurants and meeting rooms. Guest rooms were equipped with new beds, workstations and updated technology. The 280-room hotel is owned by Wheelock Street Capital, with headquarters in Greenwich, Conn. and Boston.

ENCINO

Business Lending: The U.S. Small Business Administration has named California United Bank in Encino a member of the Preferred Lenders Program. The program was designed to allow quicker assistance to small businesses by streamlining application processing. Banks are accepted as program members based on their record with SBA loans.

WOODLAND HILLS

Tax Service: K&A Accountancy, a Woodland Hills accounting firm, has launched a website designed to help small businesses claim a healthcare tax credit worth as much as $50,000. The firm charges businesses $500 a year to use its online service for guidance and forms relating to the Small Employer Health Insurance Tax Credit.

VENTURA COUNTY

NEWBURY PARK

New Kits: ECA Medical Instruments, a Newbury Park designer and manufacturer of surgical instruments, launched a new line of surgical kits. The Model 900 surgical kits give orthopedic surgeons accurate torque for securing implant screws, fasteners and connectors.
