Biologics Build: Pasadena’s Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. has received a contract from Bristol-Myers Squibb Co., the New York-based pharmaceutical giant, to provide construction services for a biologics facility in Cruiserath, Ireland. Jacobs will also provide architectural and engineering services for the project, expected to be completed by 2019. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
BURBANK
Teaming Up: Modern VideoFilm, a Burbank provider of postproduction services for the entertainment industry, has reached a deal to be acquired by Point.360, a digital media firm in Glassell Park. Under terms of a nonbinding letter of intent, Point.360 will offer convertible preferred stock in exchange for substantially all of the assets of Modern VideoFilm. The value of the deal was not disclosed.

CENTURY CITY
Closing Book: OpenGate Capital, a Century City investment firm, has completed the sale of French educational publisher Fleurus Presse to Unique Heritage Media, which, like Fleurus, is based in Paris. Unique Heritage’s deal for Fleurus was done in partnership with Paris’ Entrepreneur Venture. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Funding Round: Little Labs, part of Venice accelerator Amplify.LA, has raised $3 million in a round led by New Enterprise Associates in Timonium, Md., which was joined by Venice’s Crosscut Ventures and Amplify.LA, among others. Little Labs develops apps for smartwatches.

Retail Deal: Newport Beach’s JH Real Estate Partners Inc. has acquired a North Hollywood retail center for $43 million from RedRock Noho Retail, a joint venture of Redwood Partners Inc. of Laguna Beach and Rockwood Capital of San Francisco. The 65,000-square-foot NoHo Commons, at 5300 Lankershim Blvd., is 97 percent leased by national tenants. The retail center is one of L.A.’s first mixed-use, transit-oriented developments.

EL SEGUNDO
Taking Space: NYX Cosmetics of Commerce has signed a lease with Montana Avenue Capital for 53,788 square feet in the Station, an El Segundo office building. The property, at 2201 E. El Segundo Blvd., was built in 1974 and is across the street from a Green Line light-rail stop.
LONG BEACH
Looking to Deliver: ACI Media Group, a Long Beach provider of distribution services for publishers, has taken a minority stake in MyDistrict Net, a Dallas developer of technology for newspaper circulation. Financial detail were not disclosed, but the companies plan to work together to develop logistics and distribution products.
