New Scene: 20th Century Props, a film industry prop maker has signed a lease deal valued at $896,367 for a Van Nuys warehouse with landlord Simon Cohen. The 19,360-square-foot facility, at 14746 Raymer St., was built in 1967. The company previously occupied space in Burbank at 821 S. San Fernando Blvd., which is being redeveloped for an Ikea store.

Capital Project: Tetra Tech Inc., a Pasadena engineering services company, has received a $35 million contract from the District of Columbia’s Department of the Environment. The contract includes assessment and remediation of contaminated sediments in the Anacostia River, which flows through the nation’s Capital.

Branching Out: Realty Mogul, a Beverly Hills real estate crowdfunding company, is launching a commercial division, expanding beyond the company’s commercial equity and residential lending sectors. The firm said the division will focus on $1 million to $10 million loans, including private money, bridge and permanent financing.

Gaining Ground: Patch of Land, a Westwood real estate financing company that provides short-term residential and commercial loans, has raised $23.6 million in Series A funding. The round was led by New York’s SF Capital Group. SF Capital’s Neil Wolfson will join Patch of Land’s board.

Seed Round: Conversion Logic, a West L.A. digital advertising services company, has closed a $4 million seed round led by Santa Barbara’s Rincon Venture Partners. Conversion Logic’s software platform lets clients track their digital ad spend across a range of platforms.

Taking Off: Surf Air, a members-only Santa Monica airline, has added Bermuda Dunes Airport in Palm Springs as a destination from Burbank Bob Hope Airport. Surf Air will offer daily nonstop flights between Burbank and Palm Spring starting Nov. 5. The carrier also has added Sacramento, Monterey and Santa Rosa as destinations from Hawthorne Municipal Airport.

Online Defense: Marlin Equity Partners, a Hermosa Beach investment firm, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Fidelis Cybersecurity Solutions, a Waltham, Mass., Internet security firm. Marlin is purchasing Fidelis from parent company General Dynamics. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Management Move: CBRE Group Inc., a downtown L.A. commercial real estate company, has acquired Environmental Systems Inc., an energy management services company in Brookfield, Wis. ESI handles more than 180 million square feet at more than 2,800 locations through the United States. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
