SANTA MONICA

Dialed In: CallFire Inc., a Santa Monica provider of cloud phone and text services, has acquired FireText, a U.K. text-message marketing firm. The acquisition will help CallFire expand its European presence. CallFire helps businesses reach target audiences via automated phone calls and text messages, and is looking to leverage FireText’s ability to track customer responses and conversions from texts. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

WEST LOS ANGELES

Multifamily Purchase: Equity Real-Estate Group has acquired a West L.A. multifamily property for $6 million from Jasin Co. The 15-unit, 16,761-square-foot apartment building, at 11666 Mayfield Ave., was built in 1968 and was fully occupied at the time of sale.

SAN GABRIEL VALLEY

MONROVIA

Locked In: AeroVironment Inc., a Monrovia maker of electric-vehicle charging stations and unmanned aircraft, has received a $4.3 million contract from the Army for support services to troops using the company’s Switchblade tactical missile system. The new award increases to $63.8 million an existing contract with the Army’s Close Combat Weapons Systems Office. Switchblade is a tube-launched missile system that is either remotely piloted or programmed to strike targets in war zones.

CENTRAL AREA

GLASSELL PARK

OTC Listing: Point.360, a digital media firm in Glassell Park that used to trade on the Nasdaq exchange, has begun trading over the counter. Its OTC ticker symbol is “PTSX.” The firm said in October that its board decided to delist because the thin trading of its shares didn’t justify the costs to remain on Nasdaq. Also, it was no longer in compliance with the minimum price threshold of $1 a share.

SOUTH GATE

Terminal Acquisition: Dedeaux Properties and HG Capital have acquired a South Gate truck terminal for $5.3 million from Fiola International Inc. The 17,812-square-foot Dedeaux Truck Terminal, at 9925 Miller Way, was built in 1962.

SOUTH BAY

EL SEGUNDO

College Try: Vantage Media, an El Segundo ad tech firm, has sold its education services business to Santa Monica’s Campus Explorer. Vantage’s education business helps advertisers target students as consumers. Campus Explorer is a free service that helps students, parents and counselors evaluate colleges. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

SAN FERNANDO VALLEY

CALABASAS

New Handle: The newly merged landscaping firm of ValleyCrest Cos. and Brickman Group is changing its name to BrightView. Calabasas’ ValleyCrest and rival Brickman of Rockville, Md., merged in May to form a combined company with a workforce of more than 20,000 employees and revenue topping $2 billion. Financial terms of the merger were not disclosed.

WOODLAND HILLS

Production Pickup: Panavision, a Woodland Hills manufacturer of cameras and film and TV production equipment, has acquired postproduction house Light Iron. Light Iron, which has two facilities in Hollywood and one in New York, has a mobile postproduction hardware and software service called Outpost for use with digital cameras. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
