CARSON

On Target: Ducommun Inc., a Carson aerospace and defense contractor, has received a follow-on award to support a weapon system built by Raytheon Co., a Waltham, Mass., defense contractor. The contract extends Ducommon’s obligation through this year to provide complex wiring harnesses and printed circuit-card assemblies for the TOW system (tube-launched, optically tracked and wireless-guided), which includes a family of attack missiles designed to destroy a broad range of targets.

EL SEGUNDO

Signed Up: Virtual Piggy Inc. has reached a deal with Discover Network enabling transactions for Virtual Piggy’s teen-friendly Oink payment system to take place over the credit card company’s network. The El Segundo startup’s Oink system offers teens a credit card-free payment system to purchase items from e-commerce sites.

WESTSIDE

CULVER CITY

Plugged In: Jukin Media, which acts as a liaison between creators of viral videos and TV show producers looking to use the videos, has moved from Hollywood to Culver City. Jukin moved to a 6,400-square-foot space at 5780 W. Jefferson Blvd.

VENICE

Seed Round: Tapiture, a Venice e-commerce and social media company, has completed a $2.25 million seed round led by West L.A. capital venture firm Jump Investors. Tapiture provides a platform for members to collect Web content and share it with other members. Members can also purchase products from the site’s merchant partners. Randall Kaplan, chief executive of Jump, joined the board of Tapiture as a result of the investment. Other investors include actress Hillary Swank, and basketball players Dwight Howard and Amar’e Stoudemire.

WEST LOS ANGELES

Office Purchase: Complete Infusion Care Inc., a pharmaceutical care company, has purchased a West L.A. office building for $3.48 million from American VoiceMail Inc. Complete Infusion plans to occupy the 7,614-square-foot building, at 2310 S. Sepulveda Blvd., in the second quarter. The property also includes an income-producing billboard.

REDONDO BEACH

PR Push: Bob Gold & Associates, a Redondo Beach PR firm focused on the high-tech sector, has been hired by Semrush, a Bensalem, Pa., maker of software for search and marketing businesses. Bob Gold will lead all U.S. communications efforts for the company.


TRI-CITIES

BURBANK

Moving East: Tyco Integrated Security, a Boca Raton, Fla.-based provider of business security systems, will move its San Fernando Valley-area office from Chatsworth to Burbank. Tyco has leased 18,000 square feet of creative office space at 100 E. Graham Place in a deal valued at more than $2.2 million with landlord Luzzatto Co. Inc. of Santa Monica. Tyco shares about 30,000 square feet in Chatsworth with alarm company ADT Corp.
