Holding Steady: Ducommun Inc., a Carson-based engineering and manufacturing company, has received a long-term supply contract from Boeing Co. to continue to produce spoilers for Boeing’s 737 airliner. Ducommun will build the spoilers, which are flight control systems that control aircraft lift, at its Monrovia facility.

POMONA
Industrial Deal: A private buyer has acquired former General Dynamics plant in Pomona for $6.9 million from Equity Lenders LLC. The property, at 2000 Pomona Blvd., totals 72,500 square feet of industrial space. The buyer will do business at the site as Lockridge Tools.

NEWHALL
Retail Acquisition: AMDG Alliance LLC has sold a Newhall shopping center for $8.5 million to Telfair Corp. Stagecoach Plaza, a 25,475-square-foot retail complex at 23744-23792 Newhall Ave., was built in 2006 and was 89 percent leased at the time of the sale. A Dollar Tree store at the site was not part of the sale.
SANTA CLARITA
Production Push: The city of Santa Clarita has annexed three movie ranches that will be included in a new planning zone for the ranches. Sable Movie Ranch, Rancho Maria and A Rancho Deluxe total about 692 acres, with about 540 acres used for film and TV production. The Movie Ranch Overlay Zone was created by the city in 2011 as a zoning designation that spares property owners from having to receive a conditional use permit for filming activities, lowers the cost of filming permits and streamlines the permitting process.

Online Connection: J2 Global Inc., a Hollywood Internet fax company that also provides online storage services, has acquired Backup Connect BV, an online storage company in Flevoland, the Netherlands. The move increases J2’s international presence, bringing Backup Connect’s customer and support bases in Europe, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand under its control.

On the Road: Aecom Technology Corp., a downtown L.A. engineering services company, has been awarded contracts with a potential value of $37.5 million by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for work on several interstate highways. Aecom’s contracts cover projects for the I-78, I-70 and I-95 highways.
