Before joining Leonard Green in 1990, Jonathan Sokoloff was a managing director at Drexel, which he joined in 1985. Prior to that, he was a principal at Hambrecht & Quist. Sokoloff serves on the boards of Advantage Solutions, BJ’s Wholesale Club Inc., the Container Store, J. Crew Group Inc., Jetro Cash & Carry Inc., Jo-Ann Stores, Pure Group, Shake Shack Inc., Signet Jewelers Ltd., Topshop/Topman Holdings Ltd., Union Square Hospitality Group, and Whole Foods Market Inc. He earned a BA degree from Williams College, where he serves on the endowment committee for private equity investment.

Industry specialties: Retail and consumer, health care and wellness, and business and consumer services.

Recent transactions: Advised as First Interstate BancSystem Inc. acquired Cascade in a cash and stock transaction valued at approximately $589 million. Invested $625 million in the form of convertible preferred shares in Signet Jewelers Ltd.
