Airbnb Inc. is making friends with the unions. Well, at least with Southern California Pipe Trades District Council 16. The home-share company is partnering with SoCal Plumbers 911, a network of licensed tradesmen who belong to the union, to offer Airbnb hosts easy access to home repair services. The arrangement even offers hosts $75 off on a service call.
Stacie Olivares-Castain, chief investment officer for downtown-based lender Lendistry, was named to the board of administration for the California Public Employees Retirement System by Gov. The Los Angeles Kings’ practice facility, the Toyota Sports Performance Center in El Segundo, is adding a pair of elite sports medicine and injury rehabilitation centers. New on-site clinics run by Keck Medicine of USC and the Meyer Institute of Sport will treat the players and members of the Kings organization as well as local youth teams and people from the surrounding communities.
