J. Mario Molina

Former Chief Executive, Molina Healthcare

Dr. J. Mario Molina was president and chief executive of Molina Healthcare, a health care insurance company founded by his father. After his residency, he became a fellow in endocrinology and metabolism at the San Diego Veterans Affairs Medical Center and was then appointed assistant professor of medicine at USC. In 1991, Molina joined the family firm as medical director and then was elected chairman of the board in 1996. He serves on the boards of Johns Hopkins Medicine, the Aquarium of the Pacific, and Homeboy Industries, and is an overseer of the Huntington Library. Replaced as chief executive in 2017, he retained a seat on the board.
