Will you use bitcoins?

DEAN ABELL

Vice President

Sarah Leonard Fine Jewelers

We do not currently use bitcoins, but we might. We love the idea of fraud protection. But at this time, we have grave concerns about the stability and the ultimate security of the currency.

PAUL LITTLE

Chief Executive

Pasadena Chamber of Commerce

I have no plans either personally or professionally to use bitcoins at this time. I have enough trouble keeping track of my finances as it is.

NIMISH PATEL

Co-Managing Partner

Richardson & Patel

We intend to accept bitcoins as a mode of payment, just like cash or credit card. But we do not intend to ever hold bitcoins as as an investment.

ARJAN SCHĂśTTE

Founder, Managing Partner

Core Innovation Capital

I already have used bitcoins. Cryptocurrency represents a powerful financial innovation. I’m much more interested in bitcoins as a form of money transfer, not a store of value. I’m interested in its institutional use, not consumer use.

JASON GONZALEZ

Nixon Peabody

Definitely. It sounds interesting, fun and faintly dangerous all at the same time. The law is still trying to figure out how to handle them. I want to be courtside for that.

LILY ABLON

Analyst

Rand Corp.

Today, bitcoins are top dog among cryptocurrencies, but benefits for me are currently negligible. Once more merchants that I use accept bitcoins, I will surely hop on the bit-wagon.

DAN DARCHUCK

Chief Executive
Topturn Capital

As far as long-term viability domestically, I wouldn’t hold my breath. But 10 years ago I wouldn’t have dreamed that I’d have to check Yelp on my smartphone to figure out where to have a cheeseburger for lunch.
