Casey Wasserman, chief executive officer of the sports talent agency Wasserman Media Group, said Los Angeles won’t get a National Football League team simply by building a new stadium.

Billionaire real estate developer Ed Roski’s proposed football stadium in the City of Industry, California, about 20 miles east of Los Angeles, won’t attract a team, Wasserman said at the Allen & Co. media conference in Sun Valley, Idaho.

Wasserman, the grandson of the late MCA Inc. chief Lew Wasserman, is lobbying the NFL for a Los Angeles team and said television rights are at the heart of the league’s resistance. With ratings high for nationally broadcast games, the NFL feels little pressure to add a franchise, he said.
