Univision Communications Inc. reported third quarter net income of $88.1 million (26 cents per share), an 11 percent jump from $79.2 million (23 cents) for the same period a year earlier.

Revenue for the Los Angeles-based media company was up 7 percent to $536 million, falling just short of analysts’ expectations of 28 cents per share on $561.2 million.

The company did not schedule a conference call with analysts and said it would not provide any further earnings guidance while its proposed $12.3 billion acquisition, approved by shareholders on Sept. 27, is pending.

Univision shares closed up 3 cents to close at $35.08 Thursday.
