Disney’s ABC Television Group said Tuesday that it has signed a multiyear deal to bring its broadcast news and shows to Sprint Nextel mobile customers.
Subscribers of Sprint Nextel’s new service will be able to get ABC content on demand, including primetime shows “Desperate Housewives” and “Lost,” or three channels that stream scheduled programming daily. The service costs $15 to $20 per month.
Video content from ABC Entertainment, ABC News, and Disney Channel will be available the day after their TV premiere, the companies said in a joint release. Some of the media content will also include advertising and is set to beginning this fall.
Shares in Disney closed down 4 cents to $35.94 and gained 19 cents to $36.13 in after-hours trading Tuesday on the New York Stock Exchange.
