GLENDALE

Final Phase: Glendale Adventists Medical Center has completed the third and final phase of a $220 million west tower expansion project. The last phase of the three-floor, which cost $17 million, added 60 beds, bringing the hospital’s total to 515. It also added a cardiac intensive care unit, a neuro-intensive care unit and a 20-bed orthopedics unit.

Backup Pickup: J2 Global Inc., a Hollywood provider of cloud-based Internet communications services, has acquired Offsite Backup Solutions, a Phoenix-based provider of online backup services. The pickup gives J2 its first backup services for U.S. customers. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

LOS ANGELES

Light Switch: Cinelease Inc., an L.A.-based supplier of lighting and grip equipment to film, TV and commercial productions, has been sold by Boston-based private-equity investment firm Audux Group. The buyer was a subsidiary of Hertz Global Holding Inc., the Park Ridge, N.J. parent of the car rental company. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES

Holiday Donations: CapitalSource Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of downtown L.A.’s CapitalSource Inc., has awarded 24 cash donations totaling $50,000 to Southern California non-profits through its employee-driven holiday donation program. The non-profits were nominated and selected by CapitalSource employees.

CENTURY CITY

Hooked Up: OpenGate Capital, a Century City-based private-equity firm, has reached a deal to acquire of Getronics International’s operations in Brazil, Mexico and Colombia. Getronics is an information and communications technology provider headquartered in Zoermeer, the Netherlands, and a subsidiary of KPN, a telecommunications company headquartered in the Hague, the Netherlands. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Moving Tribute: NorthStar Moving Corp., a Chatsworth-based moving company, has received the Signature Award for Vendor of the Year from the California Apartment Association of Los Angeles. NorthStar was honored for its high level of service to the rental residential industry.

STUDIO CITY

Apartments Sold: Innodex Group LLC has bought a 41-unit Studio City apartment building for $7.2 million from Colfax Cove Apartments LLC. The nearly 37,000-square-foot building, at 4301 Colfax Ave., was built in 1971 and features a pool and spa.
