BEVERLY HILLS

Hospitality Stars: Montage Beverly Hills was honored with five stars by Forbes Travel Guide. The hotel, which opened in late 2008, is the only new hotel in California to make the list. Also honored with Five Star Awards were Beverly Hills Hotel, Peninsula Beverly Hills and Raffles L’Ermitage Beverly Hills. Four-star honorees were Beverly Hills’ Beverly Hilton, Beverly Wilshire and Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles in Beverly Hills, and Four Seasons Westlake Village. The Forbes awards were formerly known as the Mobil Travel Guide’s Mobil Awards.

Searchers: San Francisco-based retained executive search firm Terra Search Partners has opened a downtown L.A. office. Stephanie Pearson will serve as partner and oversee the new outpost, at 515 S. Flower St.

CHATSWORTH

New Track: Pentadyne Power Corp., a Chatsworth company that makes flywheel electrical energy systems, has completed a technology license and transfer agreement with U.K.-based TGT Energy Ltd. Under the agreement, Pentadyne has licensed, acquired and transferred flywheel technology for rail and energy recycling systems from TGT. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

SHERMAN OAKS

On the Download: Digiboo LLC, a Sherman Oaks maker of kiosks that allow for the quick downloading of digital content, has reached an agreement with Movie Gallery Inc., the Wilsonville, Ore., parent of Hollywood Video and Movie Gallery video and game rental stores, to place Digiboo kiosks in Movie Gallery’s stores. The pilot program will cover up to 100 of the digital kiosks.

WESTLAKE VILLAGE

Service Salute: Cydcor, a Westlake Village firm specializing in outsourced sales teams has earned top honors overall for sales and marketing outsourcing in the Black Book of Outsourcing annual survey. Cydcor came in first place in 11 categories, including overall client satisfaction in the survey, which was conducted by Clearwater, Fla.-based Brown-Wilson Group.

EL SEGUNDO

Powered Up: International Rectifier, an El Segundo maker of power management products, has received an environment management award from the National Microelectronics Institute, a U.K.-based trade association for the semiconductor industry. International Rectifier was honored for environmental efforts, including reduction in energy, raw material consumption and waste.
