Pending sales of existing U.S. homes rose to a record in April, suggesting that home sales in May and June could hit new highs, data released on Wednesday by the National Association of Realtors showed.
The Pending Home Sales Index, based on data collected in April, stood at 128.2, up 3.6 percent from March and 9.2 percent from the comparable month a year ago.
