Derrick Washington has been named senior associate and director of staff development at Wwcot Architects, a national full-service architecture and design firm with an office in Santa Monica. Washington was previously principal and chief administrative officer at design firm Harley Ellis Devereaux.
Arts
The J. Paul Getty Museum has named Claire Lyons curator for its department of antiquities at the Getty Villa. Previously, Lyons was senior collections curator of history of archaeology and ancient art at the Getty Research Institute.
Banking
Comerica Bank has hired Brandt Daniel and Kim Polley as vice presidents and private banking officers in its wealth and institutional management division. Daniel was previously vice president and private banking officer for City National Bank. Polley was senior operations officer for City National Bank.
Rod Hagenbuch has joined Stonnington Group LLC, a Los Angeles-based wealth management firm, as director of sales and marketing. Hagenbuch was previously a senior consultant at Affinity Investment Advisors, a professional asset management firm.
Education
Mona Rosenberg has been appointed clinical associate professor of veterinary medicine at Western University of Health Sciences’ College of Veterinary Medicine in Pomona. Rosenberg is chief executive of Veterinary Cancer Group.
Western University of Health Sciences has named Jeff Keating executive director of public affairs. Keating was previously deputy managing editor of the San Bernardino Sun and Inland Valley Daily Bulletin.
Engineering
LA ProPoint, a national design and engineering firm that installs stage and show systems, has hired Stephen Rowe as senior engineer. Rowe was previously a project engineer for Edge Innovations, a company that produces miniatures and special effects for movies.
Hospitality
The JW Marriott Hotel Los Angeles at L.A. Live has appointed Javier Cano general manager. Previously, Cano served as general manager of the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua in Maui, Hawaii.
Paul Shoemaker has been named executive chef of Bastide, a West Hollywood-based French restaurant. Shoemaker was previously sous chef at restaurant Providence in Hollywood.
Human Resources
Administaff Inc., a human resources company, has promoted Timothy Dennis to regional vice president of the western sales region in its Diamond Bar office. Dennis was previously regional manager.
Glocap Search, a national executive search firm, has hired Katy Nishida as senior vice president in its Los Angeles office. Nishida was previously vice president of domestic equity research sales for Sanford C. Bernstein, a global wealth management firm.
Law
Carole E. Handler has joined the Los Angeles office of the national law firm Wildman Harrold as partner. Handler was previously vice chairwoman of the intellectual property litigation group at Foley & Lardner LLP, an international law firm.
Dykema, a national law firm, has hired Monica J. Frascona as associate in its Los Angeles office’s litigation department. Frascona was previously a deputy district attorney for Riverside County.
Jordan Yospe has joined the Los Angeles office of Manatt Phelps & Phillips LLC, a national law and consulting firm, as counsel in advertising, marketing and media practice group. Previously, Yospe was founder of Brand-Aide Entertainment Group, a company that specializes in brand integration deals for films, television, music and gaming.
The Los Angeles office of Foley & Lardner LLP has hired John Yslas as senior counsel. Yslas previously served as a commissioner on the Los Angeles Civil Services Commission.

Paul H. Irving has been appointed to the board of Channel M, a Los Angeles-headquartered digital video company. Irving is co-chairman and senior corporate partner of Manatt Phelps & Phillips LLP, a national law firm.
Real Estate
CityView, a Los Angeles-based real estate company, has promoted Sean Burton to president. Burton was previously managing director and chief operating officer.
Jones Lang LaSalle, a global real estate and money management firm, has named David Doupe and Bryan Jacobs international directors, the firm’s top management tier classification. Doupe is managing director in the firm’s capital markets group. Jacobs is managing director of corporate solutions practice.
Technology
Bob Farber has been named chief executive of Symark International, an Agoura Hills-based company that provides systems access management solutions. Farber was previously chief operating officer with the company.
Planetwide Media, a software company, has appointed Philippe Benoliel chief executive. Benoliel was previously director of Hyper MP Group, an Australian company specializing in digital media advertising, and founder and business development director of Advanced Professional Solutions, a software business.
Transportation
BostonCoach has hired Dede Aguayo and Jeannie Page as sales directors in its Los Angeles office. Aguayo was previously sales manager at UPS. Page was director of client services at the Map Network, a Washington, D.C. company that provides map services.
Devorah Allen has been appointed quality and metric manager of Suddath International, a national moving services and corporate relocation company. Previously, Allen was international relocation counselor.
DONATIONS
The Rotary Club of Los Angeles has donated $500,000 to Volunteers of America Greater Los Angeles to help complete the $2.5 million renovation of VOA’s Transition House. Transition House, which will be renamed Rotary House, assists the homeless in downtown Los Angeles’ Skid Row area in finding permanent jobs and housing.

Tsang-Hidding and Yamanaka are owners of team CFO Inc., a Los Angeles-based company that provides onsite financial solutions.
