Troika Design Group, a Hollywood-based agency, has hired Dale Everett as creative director. Everett was previously in a freelance position as creative director and supervising producer with the company.


La Agencia de Orc & #237; & Asociados has appointed Ricardo C & #225;rdenas as executive creative director. C & #225;rdenas was formerly group creative director at Ogilvy in Mexico.



Architecture


Nadel Architects, a Los Angeles-based firm, has hired David Pakshong as director of special projects. Pakshong was previously a project architect with Frank Gehry’s practice.


RTKL, an international architecture, engineering and planning firm, has hired Yvonne Colacion as principal at its Los Angeles office. Colacion was previously senior associate at Gensler in Santa Monica.



Consulting


Kevin Shultz has joined FTI Capital Advisors LLC, a provider of consulting and technology services, as senior managing director. Prior to joining the company, Shultz was a financial advisor of the Westcott Group.



Education


Barbara Kaye Patton has been appointed to serve on the Graduate Nursing Advisory Board of Western University in Pomona. Patton is currently senior vice president of Hospital Operations at the Camden Group.



Law


Rutter Hobbs & Davidoff, a Los Angeles-based firm, has hired David Y. Joe as attorney in its real estate practice. Joe was previously owner of Argent Realty.


Manatt Phelps & Phillips LLP has named the following law students as members of its 2006 summer associate class: Sirena Castillo of USC; Brian Collins of New York University; Cameron Fredman from Loyola Law School; Justin Johnson and Marco Riggi of UCLA; Scott Nichols and Funmi Olorunnipa from the University of California, Berkeley; and Melissa S & #225;nchez of Columbia Law School.


Pircher Nichols & Meeks, a national real estate law firm, has hired Hilary Fey as a real estate associate. Fey recently served as an associate at Winston & Strawn.


Paul Hastings Janofsky & Walker LLP has hired Donna Melby as partner to their Los Angeles office. Melby was recently partner at Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP.


Adam Dombchik has been promoted to partner at Gordon Edelstein Krepack Grant Felton & Goldstein. Dombchik was previously an associate with the firm.



Media


Curtis Schmidt has been hired as staff editor of Crush Editorial, a Santa Monica-based post production company. Previously, Schmidt was a freelance editor of music videos.


Platinum Studios, an entertainment company that manages an independent library of comic book characters, has appointed William Widmaier as president of new media. Widmaier was recently vice president of marketing and market development at EarthLink.


KWHY-TV, an independent Spanish-language station, has appointed Raul Rodriguez to general sales manager. Rodriguez was formerly general sales manager at KSTS-TV in San Jose.


Citysearch, a local directory and media company, has appointed Neil Salvage to executive vice president of sales. Prior to joining the company, Salvage was vice president of sales at YellowPages.com.



Non-Profit


The Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena has named John Clayton president of the board, Greg Annick vice president, Craig Steward secretary, Rick Lieber treasurer and Kirsten Fossan Newquist a member. Clayton is currently president and chief executive of Clayton Industries in the City of Industry; Annick is president of Pasadena Capital Partners LLC; Steward is first vice president of Community Bank; Lieber is executive vice president of Mortgage Lending Competitiveness at Indymac Bank; and Newquist is vice president of Copia Associates.



Real Estate


Kosmont Cos., a real estate development firm, has appointed Harpal Sadhal as vice president and Wil Soholt as senior vice president. Sadhal was formerly a development analyst for Metropolitan Investments; Soholt was a senior development manager for the Norwalk-La Mirada School District.



Technology


New Age Electronics Inc., a company providing services for consumer technology manufacturers and retailers, has appointed Jo Ann Beluch as director of remanufacturing, Alan Schlagenhaft as director of operations and Blake Wakefield as director of specialty sales. Beluch was formerly remanufacturing supervisor with the company; Schlagenhaft was previously vice president of operations for Community Logistics Inc.; and Wakefield was recently account lead at Hewlett Packard.



KUDOS


Mark E. McGough has been named president and chief executive of Pentadyne Power Corp., a manufacturer and marketer of flywheel power systems. McGough was previously chief executive of Envinta Corp. and Energetics Pty Ltd.
