Director Rene Eram has joined the staff of T Minus 30 Films in Los Angeles. Eram has worked with the company on a freelance basis for two years and has now signed an agreement for exclusive representation in commercials. His credits include campaigns for Kinko’s, Energy Pacific, TCI Cable and Boston Market.
Nina Saxon has joined Los Angeles-based New Wave Entertainment Inc. as vice president/creative director. She will lead the company’s efforts in graphics and title design.
Consulting
Joseph J. Fonte has joined insurance and employee benefits consulting firm Price, Raffel & Browne in Los Angeles as the director of pension marketing. Fonte is an employee benefits associate who specializes in the areas of pension and profit sharing. He comes from Fonte & Associates, where he represented attorneys
Entertainment
Alwyn Gosford has joined the Energy Film Library in Studio City as creative director. He will be responsible for addressing creative issues, and will also oversee a complete re-editing of the library’s collection. Gosford previously held a similar position with Toronto-based Fabulous Footage.
Molly Hintlian has been promoted to producer at Santa Monica-based POP Television. She was formerly executive assistant to POP founder and CEO Alan Kozlowski. Also, Michael Orton has joined POP Television as chief engineer. Orton will be responsible for all aspects of technical direction and systems integration within the television division. He formerly was director of engineering at Editel Los Angeles.
Lisa Kaye has been promoted to senior vice president of human resources at E! Entertainment Television. Kaye will oversee all human resources functions for the network’s Los Angeles headquarters, as well as its New York, Hartford and Chicago offices. Kaye previously was head of the human resources department.
Maria Potje has been promoted to vice president of special and regional sales in the Los Angeles office of Platinum Entertainment. She joined the company in 1988 and most recently served as Western regional director of sales and marketing.
Health Care
Tom Croswell has been appointed president of L.A.-based Cigna Dental. He is now responsible for all of Cigna Dental’s operations. Previously, he was chief operating officer. Croswell replaces Douglas Klinger, who was promoted to president of Cigna Health Services.
Jerzy Kupiec-Weglinski, M.D., Ph.D., has joined the Dumont-UCLA Transplant Center at UCLA Medical Center. Prior to his appointments as professor of surgery and Dumont professor of transplantation research, he was co-director of the surgical research laboratory at Harvard Medical School. Kupiec-Weglinski’s specialty is in the area of the immunobiology of organ transplant rejection.
High Tech
Samuel Kline has been named general manager for Americom’s Carson-based handset processing center. Kline has previous experience in operations and business management. Americom provides handset support to wireless carriers and manufacturers.
Hospitality
Christopher V. Crider has been appointed general manager of the Beverly Hilton. Previously, he was the vice president and general manager of the Flamingo Hilton. Crider has worked for the Hilton Hotels Corp. for 20 years. Also, Shaun Robinson, former director of catering for the Beverly Hilton, has been appointed executive assistant manager for the hotel. Jill Cross replaces Robinson as director of catering. Before coming to the Beverly Hilton, Cross was the director of catering at the Atlanta Airport Hilton.
Law
Bruce D. Kuyper was recently named head of Irell & Manella’s high tech/multimedia/intellectual property work group. He is a partner in the firm’s Century City office. Kuyper practices intellectual property law and litigates cases involving patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret rights.
San San Lee has joined the law firm of Gilchrist & Rutter, which has offices in Los Angeles and Santa Monica, as an associate. Lee will focus on commercial real estate and business transactions. Thomas W. Casparian has also joined the firm as an associate. He will litigate business and employment matters. He was formerly a California deputy attorney general.
Media
Producer Shannon Donnelly has been hired by E-Ticket Inc. in the newly created position of vice president of product development. Most recently, Donnelly worked with Sony’s online division, Columbia TriStar Interactive. At E-Ticket, Donnelly will oversee production of E-Ticket sites. E-Ticket is a Web publisher that recently launched National Enquirer Online and America’s Most Wanted Online.
Tom Morr has been appointed editor of L.A.-based Petersen Cos.’ SUV Power, a newly launched bimonthly magazine. He was previously a stiff writer/editor at Petersen’s Four Wheeler, Off-Road and Truckworld Online.
Real Estate
Bruce L. Megowan has joined Chadwick, Saylor & Co. as senior real estate director of the Los Angeles office. He will be responsible for real estate valuation, consulting and investment management services. Megowan previously served as head of the Yarmouth Group Inc.’s office & industrial asset management group for the Southwest.
Brian Mott has merged his current enterprise, Kearn Creek Holdings LLC, with Investment Development Services of Los Angeles and will become a managing director. He was formerly a managing partner for Trammell Crow Co. Also, Rob Fuelling has joined IDS as director of marketing. He comes from the Los Angeles office of Grubb & Ellis, where he was among the office’s top five brokers. IDS is a commercial real estate company with a management portfolio of over 14 million square feet.
Securities
Phil Rosenbaum has joined Prudential Securities’ Century City branch as a first vice president of investments. Rosenbaum previously was a senior vice president at Oppenheimer & Co.’s Westwood office.
Transportation
Michael Bell has been appointed chief financial officer of Long Beach-based Polar Air Cargo. He will oversee and be responsible for the carrier’s accounting and finance functions. He was previously controller of distributor operations for E & J; Gallo Winery.
