Ernst & Young LLP, a London-based accounting services firm, has promoted Jennifer Arzonetti to director, Denis Cagna to executive director and Keith Russ to principal at its downtown L.A. office. Previously, Arzonetti was an associate director, Cagna a senior manager, and Russ a director at the firm.

ARCHITECTURE

Rossetti Architecture Interiors and Planning, an El Segundo-based architectural services firm, has named Veda N. Solomon an associate and West Coast regional director of business development. Previously, Solomon was director of business development in the Culver City office of HOK, an architectural and engineering design firm.

CONSULTING

System One, a Pittsburgh-based staffing firm, has named Marc Samson director of business development, Bill Schechter Sr. technical recruiter and Jodi Zarin vice president at its Torrance office. Previously, Samson was director of business development for HeyGoTo, a Las Vegas-based Internet search services company. Schechter was senior recruiter and Zarin was chief executive of Career Solutions, a staffing firm.

EDUCATION

John Miller has been named vice chancellor of Pepperdine University in Malibu.

Previously, Miller was associate vice president for development and alumni affairs at the university.

Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton has named Paul A. Stove vice president of advancement and marketing. Previously, Stove was director of development at the Western University of Health Sciences College of Pharmacy in Pomona.

USC’s Rossier School of Education has named Anne E. Wicks assistant dean for advancement. Previously, Wicks was interim managing director of development and director of institutional giving at American Public Media, a non-profit owner and operator of public radio stations in St. Paul, Minn.

ENTERTAINMENT

Hallmark Channels, a Studio City-based operator of cable TV channels, has promoted Donovan Batiste to vice president of research and media planning. Previously, Batiste was research director at the company.

TheWrap News Inc., an online news organization covering the business of entertainment and media, has named Mark J. Davis chief operating officer. Previously, Davis was vice president of strategy and interactive media for the San Diego Union-Tribune.

HEALTH CARE

Dr. Kathy Magliato has been named president at the American Heart Association’s L.A. division for fiscal year 2010-11. Magliato is director of women’s cardiac services at St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica and an attending cardiothoracic surgeon at Torrance Memorial Medical Center.

LAW

BuckleySandler LLP, a Washington, D.C.-based law firm, has named John Stoner counsel in its West L.A. office. Previously, Stoner was partner at McConnell Dunning & Barwick LLP, an Aliso Viejo law firm.

Sacks Glazier Franklin & Lodise LLP, a downtown L.A. trust and estate litigation firm, has named Lindsay K. Larris and J’lene C. Mortimer associates. Previously, Larris was an associate at Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP, a downtown L.A.-based law firm. Mortimer was an associate at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP, a downtown L.A.-based business litigation firm.

NON-PROFIT

Tom Alper, Rick Hersh and Dana Walden have been named to the board at the Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation, the fundraising arm of UCLA’s Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center. Alper is a senior vice president at Wells Fargo Insurance Services. Hersh is president of Celebrity Consultants LLC, a Santa Monica-based talent agency. Walden is chairman of 20th Century Fox Television.

Clive Hoffman has been named chairman at the Los Angeles Neighborhood Land Trust, a non-profit that advocates for the creation of parks and gardens in underserved neighborhoods. Hoffman is president of Clive Hoffman Associates, Inc., a Beverly Hills public relations firm.

Broad Foundations, a Westwood-based non-profit advocate for public education, scientific research and contemporary art, has named Marc A. Schwartz chief investment officer. Previously, Schwartz was managing director, principal and vice president at Reservoir Capital Group, a New York-based hedge fund sponsor.

REAL ESTATE

John Kerin has been promoted to chief executive at Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services, an Encino-based firm. Previously, Kerin was senior vice president and managing director at the firm.

TECHNOLOGY

Ascent Media Group LLC, a Santa Monica-based digital media services firm, has named Larry Birstock senior vice president of media services, Charlie Mitchell vice president of digital services and Alan Silvers vice president of media services. Previously, Birstock was president of global integration at Prime Focus, a Hollywood visual effects firm. Mitchell was senior vice president of sales at Origin Digital, a Weehawken, N.J.-based digital broadcasting firm.

Silvers was vice president of new initiatives at Reliance MediaWorks Ltd., a Mumbai, India-based media and film services company.
