East West Bank has named Julia Gouw vice chairman and chief risk officer, and Thomas J. Tolda executive vice president and chief financial officer. Gouw was previously chief financial officer with the bank. Tolda was executive vice president and chief financial officer of the consumer credit group at Wells Fargo.

Salvador Mendoza has been named senior vice president and manager of the community reinvestment department of City National Bank. Mendoza was previously vice president and manager of the same department with the bank.

Stonning Group LLC, a wealth management firm, has hired Aaron Werner as investment adviser. Werner was formerly regional vice president in the asset management group of Raymond James Financial in St. Petersburg, Fla.


Engineering

Jim McConnell has joined the Los Angeles office of Brandow & Johnston Inc., a structural engineering firm in Southern California, as executive vice president of business operations. McConnell was previously president of SGI Construction Management.


Entertainment

Final Cut/Los Angeles, a creative editorial company serving clients in the advertising and entertainment industries, has named Joe Hutsching and Graham Turner editors. Hutsching was previously a freelance feature film editor. Turner was most recently an assistant editor at Final Cut.


Health Care

Dale Adams has been named vice president and chief pharmacy officer of City of Hope. Previously, Adams was vice president of medical services at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center and Miller Children’s Hospital in Long Beach.


Hospitality

Kristi Schaffter has been hired as director of sales and marketing for Kress, a new restaurant and entertainment center in Hollywood. Schaffter was previously senior event sales manager of Jillian’s restaurant and bar at Universal CityWalk.



Human Resources

Workway, a Burbank-based staffing firm, has promoted Roger Iris to president. Iris previously served as senior vice president.



Law

Gordon Edelstein Krepack Grant Felton & Goldstein, a Los Angeles-based personal injury and workers compensation firm, has named Eugenia Steele a partner in its personal injury practice. Steele was formerly an associate with the firm.


Manufacturing

Loren Simpson has joined Pelican Products Inc., a company that designs and manufactures advanced lighting systems and cases, as director of U.S. government sales. Previously, Simpson served as vice president of sales at Thorlo Inc., a footwear manufacturer.



Media

Jonathan Greenblatt has been appointed chief executive of Good, a West Hollywood-based media company. Previously, Greenblatt was vice president of Starbucks Coffee Co.


Vantage Media, an El Segundo-based media and marketing firm, has named Greg Isaacs vice president of incubation, Neil Kaplan senior vice president of operations and Sumant Sridharan vice president of marketing. Isaacs was previously vice president and general manager of marketplaces at LeadPoint, an online leads exchange marketplace. Kaplan was senior vice president of strategic development at Internet Brands, an Internet media company that operates automotive and travel Web sites. Sridharan was general manager of travel at online advertising company Oversee.net.


Non-Profit

Barbara Cull has been elected to the board of Exceptional Children’s Foundation, a non-profit organization serving children and adults with learning, developmental and emotional disabilities. Cull is founder of the Kayne Eras Center, a Culver City-based center that provides education and therapy for children, youth and adults with disabilities.

Path Partners, a non-profit organization that provides housing services to the homeless, has appointed Ralph E. Plumb executive director of national initiatives. Plumb was previously chief executive of Union Rescue Mission, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the poor and homeless of Los Angeles.



Real Estate

Ciba Insurance Services, a commercial real estate insurance program, has hired Michael A. Brophy as chief underwriting officer and Wayne Swanson as national sales manager. Brophy was previously regional assistant vice president for CNA Insurance. Swanson was first vice president and national production manager for Countrywide Insurance Services.

Brent Hogan has joined the Los Angeles office of Re/Max Commercial as vice president of investment sales. Hogan was previously vice president of investment sales at the Los Angeles office of Marcus & Millichap, a commercial real estate brokerage firm.


Transportation

The Transportation Security Administration has named Nancy Baggott federal security director for Long Beach Airport. Baggott was formerly FedEx senior manager for sort and ramp operations at Washington-Dulles International Airport.


KUDOS

Los Angeles Urban League, an organization that helps African Americans and other minorities to secure civil rights through job training, job placement, youth development and educational programs, has presented the Community Coalition Partnership Award to Burson-Marsteller, a global communications agency; the Whitney M. Young Jr. Award to Michael Garrett, USC athletic director; and the Nestle Youth Leadership Award to Ashley D. Williams, a senior at Dorsey High School.

Anne and Brad Globe have been chosen as the 2008 Otis Creative Vision Award recipients by Otis College of Art and Design. Anne Globe is head of worldwide marketing and consumer products for DreamWorks Animation. Brad Globe is president of Warner Bros. Worldwide Consumer Products. The awards will be presented May 3 at the annual Otis Scholarship Benefit.
