The Artime Group, a Pasadena-based advertising, branding and marketing agency, hired Christopher “CJ” Ramirez as account director and creative director and Mark Wales as vice president and interactive account director. Ramirez was previously strategic creative consultant at Garza Group in Pasadena. Wales was previously senior systems developer at Evangelical Christian Credit Union in Brea.



Aerospace


Northrop Grumman Corp., the El Segundo-based aerospace and defense company, named Douglas H. Young vice president of space systems for its integrated systems sector. He had previously been director of space systems at the company.



Apparel


Los Angeles-based clothing maker Guess? Inc. named Bonita Inza senior vice president of retail operations and Terence Tsang senior vice president of corporate business development. Inza was previously vice president of operations at Williams-Sonoma, based in San Francisco. Tsang was at Ashworth Inc. in San Diego as executive vice president, chief financial officer, chief accounting officer and treasurer.



Banking


Mosaic Capital, a Los Angeles-based investment banking firm, named David A. Cohn, David J. Herman and Charles H. Troe managing directors at its new Westside office. Cohn was previously managing director of Angeles Capital Group in Los Angeles, Herman was a partner at West Coast Capital in West Los Angeles and Troe was a managing director at West Ridge Associates LLC in West Los Angeles.



Education


Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed Craig Smith of Long Beach to the California State University Board of Trustees. Smith is currently chair of the department of film and electronic arts at California State University, Long Beach.



Energy


The board of Edison International, parent company of Southern California Edison, elected J.A. (Lon) Bouknight Jr. executive vice president and general counsel. Bouknight Jr. was previously a partner in the Washington D.C. office of Steptoe & Johnson LLP.



Entertainment


Los Angeles-based SBE Entertainment Group named Theresa Fatino chief creative officer. Fatino was previously vice president of design and brand development for W Hotels, headquartered in New York.


Extraordinary Events, a Sherman Oaks-based event management and production firm, promoted Jon Michaels as executive vice president of operations. He was previously director of operations and human resources at the company.



Health Care


Health Net of California, the Woodland Hills-based health plan provider, hired Mark Morgan as marketing and product development officer. Morgan was previously vice president of sales for Blue Shield of California. The company also promoted Scott St. Clair to vice president of sales. St. Clair had served as director of sales for Health Net.



Hospitality


The Ritz-Carlton Huntington Hotel & Spa appointed Ed Curry director of sales and marketing. Curry was previously the director of sales and marketing for the Ritz-Carlton Marina Del Rey.



Law


Real estate law firm Pircher Nichols & Meeks named June Dash an associate in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Dash was previously an associate in the Washington D.C. office of Steptoe and Johnson LLP.


DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary US LLP named Sanford C. Presant a partner in the firm’s real estate capital markets practice group in Century City. Presant was previously national director of real estate fund services at Ernst & Young. DLA also hired Nicolas Morgan as of counsel in its securities litigation practice group. Morgan had been a senior trial counsel in the enforcement division of the SEC’s pacific regional office.


Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed Bradly Torgan general counsel for the Department of Parks and Recreation. A West Hollywood resident, Torgan was previously a partner with Kelly Lytton & Vann LLP.



Media


North Hollywood-based Movies.com named Lew Harris editorial director. Harris had been the founding editor-in-chief of E! Online in Los Angeles.



Non-Profit


Genesis LA Economic Growth Corp. elected Lee Kanon Alpert chairman. An arbitrator, mediator, consultant, lawyer and philanthropist, Alpert was a founding member of the organization.


The Los Angeles chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society appointed Taly Fantini as director of special events and Lisa D’Angelo as director of its team in training program. Fantini was previously a consultant for non-profit agencies and D’Angelo was co-owner of West Coast Runners.



Public Relations


Formula promoted Matt Draper to senior account executive and Matthew “Logan” Dianella to account executive in its Los Angeles office. Draper was previously an account executive and Dianella was an assistant account executive with the firm.



Real Estate


Cal Select Properties Inc., a Los Angeles-based commercial and multi-residential property management and investment company, named Chad Eshaghoff president. Eshaghoff was previously chief operating officer for George Elkins Property Management.


RealtyTracker, a Los Angeles-based real estate information and tracking company, named David Robbins vice president of sales. Robbins was previously director of marketing operations at American International Marketing in Glendale.


Grubb & Ellis Co. hired Maury Gentile and Sean O’Leary as senior vice presidents in its Los Angeles office. Gentile was previously managing principal in the downtown Los Angeles office of Newmark Pacific and O’Leary was a principal at Newmark. Marlene Weber was also hired as a senior associate and Brian Denton was named an associate at Grubb & Ellis. Weber was previously associate director and Denton was an associate at Newmark.
