Washington Mutual Inc. hired Gary Kishner as southwest regional public relations manager at its downtown Los Angeles office. Kishner was previously senior account manager with the Pollack PR Marketing Group in Los Angeles.
Pasadena-based IndyMac Bancorp Inc. promoted Richard H. Wohl to president of IndyMac Bank F.S.B. and Frank Sillman to chief executive of IndyMac Mortgage Bank. Wohl previously was senior executive vice president of IndyMac Bank and chief executive of IndyMac Mortgage Bank. Sillman was chief executive and executive vice president of the Mortgage Professionals Division of IndyMac Mortgage Bank.
DBS Bank Ltd in Los Angeles appointed Rosie Jen as senior vice president and head of corporate banking and Russell Sun to senior relationship manager. Jen previously was vice president in the international bank division of US Bank, where she was responsible for marketing. Sun was formerly regional vice president of EastWest Bank in downtown Los Angeles.
U.S. Bank in Los Angeles has promoted Edward Kim to market president. Kim previously was a commercial banker with the company.

Amgen Inc. in Thousand Oaks promoted David R. Parkinson, vice president of oncology development and commercialization. Parkinson was formerly vice president and head of global clinical oncology at the company.

Korn/Ferry International, an executive search firm, hired Maggie Habib as marketing specialist based at the company’s Los Angeles headquarters. Habib previously served as client executive at the public relations firm Burson-Marsteller in Los Angeles.
AlixPartners, an international corporate financial advisory firm, has named David Peck director in its Los Angeles office. Peck was a senior manager with A.T. Kearney’s consulting practice at the company’s Costa Mesa office.
RBZ LLP, a Los Angeles-based CPA and consulting firm, promoted Cindy Chu and Hyun Ji to managers. They were previously senior supervisors. Dean Bower was promoted to senior supervisor.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed Solomon Hamburg of Encino, Anna Wu of Los Angeles and Thomas Mack of Manhattan Beach to the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment. Hamburg is a partner at Tower Hematology Oncology Medical Group. Wu and Mack are professors in the department of preventive medicine at the University of Southern California.

Herbalife Ltd. in Los Angeles appointed Steve Henig as chief scientific officer, with responsibility for the company’s product research and development function. He formerly was senior vice president, technology and innovation at Ocean Spray Cranberries Inc. in Lakeville, Mass. The company also promoted Gregory L. Probert to president and chief operating officer.

Fandango in Los Angeles appointed Bethany Ellis as director of human resources and Bruce Budkofsky director, East Coast Advertising Sales. Ellis previously was the national director of human resources at Screen Actor’s Guild in Los Angeles. Budkofsky was formerly account executive for the Weather Channel and Weather.com in New York.

The Los Angeles Daily News in Woodland Hills named Jeannine Antus Koncar vice president of advertising. Koncar was previously vice president of advertising for major accounts in the Los Angeles Newspaper Group, which includes the Daily News. L.A. Newspaper Group also promoted Karalynn Gregory, Renee Knight and Liz Hamm. Gregory is now vice president of major advertising after serving as director of major advertising. Knight was senior account executive and will now be advertising manager. Hamm, formerly research manager, will be research director focusing on strategic initiatives for both the Los Angeles Newspaper Group and Los Angeles Daily News operations.

The Board of The Los Angeles Free Clinic has appointed Marilyn Barrett to a second term as board chair. Barrett is a partner in Van Etten Suzumoto & Becket LLP’s corporate and tax department.
