Accounting

Cynthia Gaytan has joined Roth Bookstein & Zaslow LLP as a manager in the comprehensive business services department. Her practice area includes all services for small businesses, with an emphasis in auditing, tax matters, business consulting and personal finance counseling. Previously, Gaytan was a manager in the tax department of Deloitte & Touche.

Maureen Geudtner has been appointed director of marketing for Windes & McClaughry Accountancy Corp. Prior to joining, Geudtner was the director of advertising and marketing for a specialty retailer in Southern California. Also, George Shewchuk has joined as a manager in the small business services department. He will serve as an experienced advisor to small and emerging businesses, providing accounting, tax and advisory services. Previously, Shewchuk was a manager with Ernst & Young LLP.

Robert McCoy has been named vice president of the in-house licensing and merchandising services division at Pittard Sullivan. Prior to joining, McCoy was director of the agency group for TLA/CONSOR.

Associations

Emily Bernhardt has been named controller for the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. She will oversee accounting, financial reporting and analysis, payroll and benefits, tenant relations and general services. Previously, Bernhardt was manager of sales administration at Applied Graphics Technologies.

Banking and Finance

Leticia Aguilar has been promoted to in-store region manager for Bank of America. She will be responsible for 200 grocery-store banking centers located throughout Southern California. She is based in the bank’s downtown Los Angeles office. Most recently, Aguilar was district manager.

Frank Beardsley has been named president of Transamerica Asset Management, a unit of the Transamerica Life Cos. He will be responsible for stable value investments, financial products and structured settlements. Most recently, Beardsley was vice president of risk management for Transamerica Asset Management.

Frederick Denitz has been appointed senior vice president in the Beverly Hills commercial banking office of Imperial Bank. His responsibilities will include assisting small to medium-sized companies with their commercial loan, depository and cash management needs. Previously, Denitz served as vice president in the commercial banking division at Bank of America.

Construction

Jane Pottinger has joined Kleinfelder’s Diamond Bar office as construction manager. She will be managing projects and marketing throughout Ventura Orange San Bernardino, Los Angeles, and Riverside counties. Pottinger most recently served as construction manager for construction support of the I-405/Harbor Boulevard Interchange widening project.

Education

George Pardon has been named vice president of administration and finance at California State University, Dominguez Hills. His responsibilities include the university’s budget, financial management, non-faculty human resources, environmental health and safety, physical plant and facilities planning. Previously, Pardon was accounting director for the CSU system.

Entertainment

David Cassaro and Mark Feldman have been promoted to executive vice presidents at E! Entertainment Television Networks. Previously, Cassaro was senior vice president of advertising sales. Feldman was senior vice president of business and legal affairs and general counsel.

Kenny Nemes has been promoted to product marketing manager at Higher Octave Music. Nemes also assumes the role of label manager for the sub-label CyberOctave.

James Stanek has been named technical director for Reality Check Studios. Previously, Stanek was a designer at the Picture Mill. Also, Mary Cross has joined as manager of client services. She will handle client needs and generate new business leads. Most recently, Cross was sales manager at Electric Image.

Health Care

Robert Mathews has been appointed executive vice president and general manager of COHR Inc.’s MasterPlan division. He will be responsible for all COHR MasterPlan operations, including marketing, sales and financial performance. Most recently, Mathews served as vice president and general manager for Diasonics Vingmed Ultrasound Inc.

Therese Williams has been promoted to vice president of the office of the chairman for WellPoint Health Networks Inc. Williams joined the company in 1990 as a group market manager in market planning and development for Blue Cross of California.

High Tech

Michael Stephens has been appointed vice president of worldwide sales for Mineshare Inc. Previously, Stephens was area director of Western regional sales for Cognos Corp.

Law

The Los Angeles office of Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue announced the admission of three attorneys to partnership. Kevin Dorse, a member of the litigation group and the general litigation practice, joined the firm in 1993. Catherine Ehrgott, a member of the business practice group and the business transactions and health care practices, joined in 1988. Patricia Van Dyke, a member of the litigation group and general litigation practice, joined in 1994.

Real Estate

Jay Burns has been named sales manager in the Long Beach office of Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Brokerage Co. Previously, Burns was vice president at Home Savings of America.

Robin Dodson has been promoted to associate vice president at Grubb & Ellis Co. She specializes in the sales and leasing of industrial real estate in the San Gabriel Valley. Dodson has been with Grubb & Ellis for the past 10 years.

Sean Hashem has been named vice president at Beverly Hills-based South Park Group. His responsibilities will include commercial sales, leasing and management of property in the West Hollywood and Beverly Hills areas. Hashem most recently was senior associate and investment specialist at Grubb & Ellis.

Ronald Price has been appointed director of property management for the Los Angeles office of Insignia/ESG. He will oversee day-to-day activities for the firm’s current projects in Los Angeles and Ventura counties and will handle reviewing and signing of all service contracts for new developments in the area. Prior to joining, Price served as director of project management with CB Richard Ellis.

Tourism

Mary Kennedy has been promoted to marketing research manager at the West Hollywood Convention and Visitors Bureau. She will develop and supervise a tracking system for productivity of the bureau’s marketing and media programs. Most recently, Kennedy was a marketing associate.

Transportation

Richard Brumbaugh has been named chief financial officer for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. He will be responsible for the agency’s financial operations. Prior to joining, Brumbaugh was vice president of finance and chief financial officer of the Santa Anita Operating Co.
