Linda Krakowsky Jackson has been promoted to vice president, group director at advertising agency McCann-Erickson Los Angeles. She will spearhead advertising efforts for the Nutritional Products Division of Nestl & #233; USA. Jackson was vice president, management representative at the agency prior to her promotion.
Banking & Finance
Gerry Barredo has been appointed regional vice president of Imperial Bank’s downtown Los Angeles regional office. In his new position, Barredo will oversee development and enhancement of the downtown office’s commercial operations. He previously was director/vice president and senior relationship manager at Union Bank of California.
John Hoisch has joined Sutro & Co.’s Woodland Hills branch office as first vice president, investments. Hoisch joins Sutro after seven years with Schroder Wertheim in West Los Angeles. Prior to that he worked at both Bateman Eichler and Drexel Burnham Lambert.
Union Bank of California has named Charles T. Strong, Cynthia C. Wagner and John R. Hahn vice presidents. Strong is based at the bank’s Beverly Hills office and joined the company in 1988 as a priority banking officer. Prior to that, he worked at First Interstate Bank in Century City as a personal banking officer. Wagner, a senior hazardous materials officer, is based at the bank’s City of Industry office in the environmental services division. Hahn is based at the bank’s Los Angeles office, in the business trust and private financial services division. Hahn previously served as a senior employee benefits attorney for W.F. Corroon.
John R. Woodward has been appointed vice president, manager of China Trust Bank’s new SBA loan department. He previously served as vice president, manager of Monarch Bank in Laguna Niguel. Woodward will oversee production and servicing of SBA-guaranteed loan products for the bank, which is headquartered in Torrance.
Scott Gray has been appointed executive vice president, chief lending officer of First Federal Bank of California, which is headquartered in Santa Monica. Prior to joining the bank, Gray was regional vice president, director of Comerica’s California mortgage lending operation.
Christopher A. Haun has been named wholesale account executive at North American Mortgage Co. Haun will be responsible for subprime loans and will work out of the company’s East Los Angeles office.
Engineering
Ray Hadden has joined Law/Crandall, a division of Law Engineering and Environmental Services Inc., as manager of the company’s Los Angeles office. Hadden previously was associate vice president of facility development for FHP Corp. Before that he was vice president of Fluor Constructors, where he directed construction of major projects in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Entertainment/Media
John Janisch has been named vice president of production finance for All American Television Production. In his new position, Janisch will supervise financial activities on behalf of the company’s projects for network and cable. He previously was vice president and controller of production accounting for New World Television.
James F. Griffiths has been named president of international television distribution at MGM Networks. In this newly created position in the MGM Worldwide Television Group, Griffiths will oversee worldwide pay and free TV, including distribution, channel ownership, television co-producing and co-financing. He will work out of the company’s Santa Monica office. Prior to MGM, Griffiths headed the Entertainment Ventures Group at Creative Artists Agency.
Times Mirror has promoted Horst A. Bergmann and Kathryn M. Downing to corporate senior vice presidents. They were previously corporate vice presidents. Bergmann has spent most of his professional career at Jeppesen Sanderson, joining that company in 1963. Downing was president and CEO of Lawyers Cooperative Publishing prior to joining Times Mirror. In addition, Edward L. Blood has been promoted to vice president of strategic planning. Before joining the company, Blood was senior vice president, investor relations and strategic planning at Darden Restaurants.
High Tech/Aerospace
Michael Bolcerek has joined Spatializer Audio Laboratories Inc. in Woodland Hills as chief financial officer. Bolcerek has also been appointed an officer of the company being named secretary of Spatializer and its subsidiaries: Desper Products Inc. and MultiDisc Technologies Inc. He previously served as assistant treasurer with Next Computers.
Candle Corp. has named Tom Crummey worldwide director of Candle Direct, the company’s new internal sales organization in Santa Monica. Crummey will oversee the company’s sales force, and the development and implementation of its marketing strategy. Prior to joining the company, he served in management roles for both IBM Consumer Direct and IBM PCDirect.
Law firm Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy has named John A. Funk of counsel in the firm’s Intellectual Property & Technology Group, which is based in Los Angeles. Funk will specialize in outsourcing and related intellectual property transactions. He previously was group counsel at Electronic Data Systems.
Personnel
Christos Richards has been appointed principal at Staton Chase International, a Los Angeles-based executive recruitment firm. Prior to joining the company, Richards was founder, president and CEO of Nexium Inc. He has more than 15 years of executive recruitment experience.
Abacus Staffing for Accounting has named Michael Follin partner and manager. He will be responsible for opening and managing the company’s new Cerritos location. Before joining Abacus Staffing, Follin served as area manager at Accountants Overload.
Real Estate
Kris Hoffman has been named executive vice president and regional operating officer of Burnham Pacific for the company’s Los Angeles metropolitan area. In this newly created position, Hoffman will oversee management of the company’s portfolio in the region, as well as the acquisition and development of additional retail properties here. Prior to joining the company, he was president, chief operating officer and partner of Albert B. Glickman & Associates and the H & G; Development Co.
John P. McDermott has been appointed regional manager of the Encino office of investment brokerage firm Marcus & Millichap. McDermott joined the firm in 1989, serving as an agent, sales manager and most recently regional manager of the firm’s San Diego office.
Kosmont & Associates Inc. has named David Rodriguez and Thomas R. Jirovsky senior vice presidents. Prior to joining the company, Rodriguez worked at Goodell & Associates. Jirovsky previously worked at Sedway Kotin Mouchly Group. The Los Angeles-based company is a consulting firm specializing in real estate, entitlements, economics and redevelopment.
Todd Doney was promoted to senior vice president at Cushman Realty Corp. He joined the company in 1986, specializing in commercial office sales and leasing in the Los Angeles area. He will work out of the company’s downtown Los Angeles office that is located in the Sanwa Bank building.
Georgia Ford has been promoted to associate principal at the Santa Monica-based architectural firm of Lee, Burkhart Liu Inc. Ford previously was senior associate. She will oversee all operations activities for the firm, including human resources and office management. Charles Scott Wing has joined the firm as associate principal. Before that, Wing served as senior vice president and partner of architectural firm Cannon.
Retail
Robert J. Stevenish was appointed chief executive of Fedco Inc., which is based in Santa Fe Springs. Prior to joining the company he was was executive vice president for all Montgomery Ward stores and distribution centers. He started his retail career at JCPenney, where he started as a store operations manager and eventually became director of specialty retailing.
Tourism
Hotel Bel-Air has appointed Anthony McHale hotel manager. His responsibilities will include hotel operations and special projects. Prior to joining the hotel, he served as executive assistant manager at The Peninsula Beverly Hills.
