Debra Lieberman-Martucci has been appointed senior vice president and media director at Santa Monica-based Palisades Media Group Inc. Lieberman-Martucci will head a new division of PMG that focuses on consumer and retail advertising. She previously was senior vice president and media director at the Los Angeles office of Media That Works.

Banking & Finance

Jan R. Cloyde has been appointed to the new position of executive vice president and director of banking services at City National Bank. Previously, Cloyde was executive vice president and director of banking services at Home Savings of America.

Gregg W. Ritchie has joined L.A.-based Pacific Capital Group Inc. as managing director and chief financial officer. He previously was a partner at KPMG Peat Marwick LLP.

Construction

Carol Lefkowitz has been appointed regional marketing director for Los Angeles-based Dynamic Builders Inc. Previously, Lefkowitz was senior leasing and sales associate at Grubb & Ellis Co.

Kevin D. Wilson has been appointed chief financial officer of West L.A.-based Peck/Jones Construction Corp. Wilson’s previous experience includes five years as a consulting manager with a national public accounting firm.

Entertainment

Cynthia C. Cleveland has been appointed president of Universal Studios Consumer Products Group. She will be responsible for the company’s consumer products global strategy across all Universal divisions. She previously was president of merchandising and licensing for the group.

Lee Chirillo has joined Culver City-based Fresh Produce Entertainment as head of business development. Chirillo previously assisted in the development of new film and film production on behalf of the state of Florida.

Angela Gaspar has been appointed director of sales at West Hollywood-based Caliban Filmworks. She previously was director of business development at Richard Edlund Films.

Rob Morhaim has been appointed vice president of first-run programming at L.A.-based Big Ticket Television. Morhaim will be responsible for developing original series television for first-run syndication and cable. Previously, he was vice president of development and production for Team Entertainment Group.

Tom O’Brien has been promoted to director of standards and practices at the Disney Channel. Prior to joining, O’Brien worked in episodic television.

Dan Weiss has been promoted to senior vice president of creative services for Carsey-Werner Distribution. He will be responsible for all advertising and promotion. Weiss previously was vice president of creative services.

Education

Mark D. Pesce has been named director of the USC School of Cinema-Television’s interactive media program. Most recently Pesce was chairman and chief technology officer of blitcom LLC, a Web-based entertainment company.

Executive Search

Richard Jennings has joined Los Angeles-based McCormack & Associates as partner. Jennings, who will help build an entertainment and media practice, previously was with Hollywood Supports.

Hospitality

Melissa R. Gleiberman has joined the legal department of Hilton Hotels Corp. as litigation and intellectual property counsel. Previously, Gleiberman served as an associate at Irell & Manella LLP.

Pat Trammell has been appointed director of sales and marketing for the Hyatt Valencia. Prior to joining, Trammell was director of sales and marketing for Hyatt Regency Greenville in South Carolina.

Dave Williams has joined L.A.-based Restaurant Associates as director of catering, West Coast operations. Prior to joining, Williams worked for Schwartz Brothers Restaurants.

Law

Lisa Hamilton Klein has joined the corporate department of Katten Muchin & Zavis’ Los Angeles office as a partner. She will concentrate her practice in mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance.

James R. Schwartz has joined Manatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP as a partner in the Los Angeles office. Schwartz, a health law attorney, formerly was a deputy attorney general with the California Attorney General’s Office.

New Media

Dennis Phillips has been named executive vice president of worldwide finance at the Los Angeles office of iXL Inc. Phillips previously was vice president of finance for KCAL-TV Channel 28.

Public Relations

Addie Bua has been named director of marketing and publicity for Hollywood-based Asbury Communications. Previously, Bua was sales and marketing manager at Caliban Filmworks.

Frederic C. MacFarlane II has been named director of public relations, West Coast for the Kamber Group. MacFarlane, who will be based in the Los Angeles office, previously has served as press secretary to Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley, Supervisor Yvonne Braithwaite Burke and former Rebuild L.A. Chairman Peter Ueberroth.

Stephanie Schroder has joined the Los Angeles office of Fleishman-Hillard as a managing supervisor. Prior to joining, Schroder was a political affairs director at Atlantic Richfield Corp.

Real Estate

Charles DeSantis has been named director of retail and office properties for Charles Dunn Co. Inc. DeSantis, who will be based in West Los Angeles, previously was with Sands Commercial in Century City. Sands merged with Charles Dunn earlier this year.

Paul A. Johnson has joined the Los Angeles office of Sedway Group as senior associate. Johnson previously worked with the city of Alhambra Redevelopment Agency.

Brian Lezak has been promoted to director of corporate business development at Kennedy-Wilson International’s Beverly Hills headquarters. Lezak will also continue in his role as senior vice president of the commercial group.

Robert Shapiro has been named vice president of retail leasing with the Los Angeles office of Forest City Development, California Inc. He will be responsible for leasing 10 properties. Most recently, Shapiro was vice president of real estate and development for Eddie Bauer Stores Inc.

Gene G. Wright has been named senior managing director of retailer services at CB Richard Ellis. Most recently, Wright served as senior executive and associate partner with Andersen Consulting.

Security

Philip H. Stern has been appointed senior managing director and counsel at the new Los Angeles office of Decision Strategies Fairfax International LLC. He previously was with the New York office of DSFX, and is an expert in health care fraud, security and corporate fraud issues. In addition, W. Thomas Sears, managing director and counsel, will direct the day-to-day operations of the Los Angeles office. He formerly was with Kroll Associates.

Utilities

Ed Kjaer has been appointed director of electric transportation for Southern California Edison. He will be responsible for the management of day-to-day operations of the utility’s electric transportation division. Prior to joining SCE, Kjaer was automotive director at Edison EV.
