Aerospace

Linda Solomon has been named marketing manager for Bearing Inspection Inc., an inspection and overhaul company. Solomon will focus on market and sales analysis, customer relations and marketing communications. She previously served as marketing manager for Accuride International.

Architecture

John W. McQuown and Slawek Nadowski have joined the Los Angeles office of Hammel Green and Abrahamson Inc., an architecture engineering and planning firm, as senior architects. They will work in the firm’s health care and higher education practice.

Consulting

Sherwood Partners Inc., a business advisory and consulting firm, announced the addition of Dr. Mark Goulston as senior vice president of corporate culturing. Goulston was formerly an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at UCLA and has worked as an FBI hostage negotiator trainer.

Education

Anthony Bailey has joined Kaplan International, an educational and career services company, as general manager of English language programs. Bailey will be based in the company’s headquarters downtown and previously worked for Ford Motor Co. in various marketing management roles.

Entertainment

Elizabeth Hillman has been named vice president of corporate communications, and Pam Slay was promoted to vice president of network program publicity at Hallmark Channel. Hillman will oversee all corporate communications and Slay consumer publicity.

Alfred Taren was promoted to senior director of contract administration at Universal Music Publishing Group. Taren’s responsibilities include tracking all active U.S. publishing deals and serving as a liaison between the company’s business affairs department and performing rights societies.

Finance

Cliff Lightfoot has joined Janas Associates, a mergers and acquisitions firm located in Pasadena, as managing director. Prior to joining Janas, Lightfoot was in the management consulting practice of Ernst & Young.

Graphic Design

Laurel Klick has been named visual effects supervisor for Eden FX, a computer graphics firm specializing in the entertainment industry. Klick will head the firm’s newly launched feature film unit. She previously was visual effects supervisor at Cinesite.

Law

Michelle Lee Flores has joined the Los Angeles office of Greenberg Traurig LLP as of counsel. She will be a member of the firm’s labor and employment practice. Flores comes to the firm from Ervin, Cohen & Jessup where she was a partner.

Jeffer Mangels Butler & Marmaro LLP named Grant T. Langton as a partner in the L.A. office’s intellectual property department. Langton, formerly a partner at Christie Parker & Hale, will specialize in chemical, mechanical and material science arts.

Thomas Russell has been appointed managing assistant of the Office of the City Attorney Harbor Division. Russell will serve as general counsel to the Los Angeles Harbor Department and supervise attorneys who draft and review all harbor department contracts and projects. Russell currently practices maritime law at the firm Russell and Associates in Long Beach.

Media

POMAX & BDA;, a non-profit association of promotion, marketing and broadcast design professionals in the electronic media, named Jim Chabin president and chief executive. He rejoins the organization after serving as president of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Chabin was POMAX & BDA; president and chief executive in 1992.

Public Relations

Jennifer Price has been promoted to executive vice president at the Lippin Group. Based in the company’s Los Angeles office, Price will handle campaigns for award shows, consumer products, special events, musicians and television series. She joined Lippin in 1992.

Real Estate

Robertson Properties Group, a commercial real estate developer, investor and manager, has promoted two of its directors to vice president. John M. Manavian will be responsible for creating long-term development plans and overseeing project teams. Mark Miller will focus on the leasing of the company’s projects, property acquisitions and dispositions.

John Feldman has joined Kirkpatrick Associates Architects as senior project manager of the landscape studio. Feldman will be responsible for directing design, management and construction administration. He formerly operated his own design firm.

Tourism

Dean Williams has been named national sales manager for the Pasadena Convention & Visitors Bureau. Williams, who previously worked as a sales manager for the Hilton Burbank Airport & Convention Center, will be responsible for marketing Pasadena’s meeting and convention facilities to association and corporations.
