The Los Angeles office of Grant Thornton LLP, an accounting, tax and business advisory organization, hired Bennett Lee as a senior manager for business advisory services and John Tonsick as director of economic advisory services in Southern California. Lee was previously corporate audit manager for Beckman Coulter. Tonsick was previously a principal with the financial services advisory group of PricewaterhouseCoopers in the company’s Los Angeles office.


The Beverly Hills office of Rothstein Kass & Co., an international accounting and consulting firm, promoted Kristine Stromeyer, to principal. Stromeyer was formerly a senior manager.



Advertising


Castells & Asociados, an independent Hispanic advertising agency based in Los Angeles, hired Carlos Mendez as executive vice president, chief creative officer. Mendez was previously executive vice president, chief creative officer at Mendoza Dillon, a software Hispanic advertising agency in Irvine.


Adlink, a cable advertising sales and placement organization based in Los Angeles, promoted Matt Brown to vice president of marketing and research. Brown was previously vice president of marketing and communications.



Aerospace


Los Angeles-based Northrop Grumman Corp. hired Jake Volkert as vice president and general manager of its Electronic Systems sector’s Navigation Systems Division located in Woodland Hills. Volkert was previously vice president of the battle management/command, control and communications and strategic systems business segment at Boeing Co. in Anaheim.



Architecture


KTGY Group Inc. hired Albert Croft and Greg Lyon as principals in its new Santa Monica office. Croft was formerly senior project director at MCG Architecture in Pasadena. Lyon was previously design principal at MCG Architecture.



Banking & Finance


City National Bank named David W. Maurer senior vice president and manager of its new equipment leasing department. Maurer was formerly vice president and manager of direct leasing at Bank of the West in Los Angeles.


Froley Revy Investment Co., Inc., a national specialty manager of convertible securities based in Los Angeles, promoted Ed Hackney Sr. senior vice president of marketing and Gary Peters vice president of marketing. Hackney was formerly vice president of marketing. Peters was previously vice president and national sales manager of Great American Financial Resources in Cincinnati.


Union Bank of California promoted John M. Edmonston to executive vice president within the company’s energy capital services division in Los Angeles. Edmonston was previously senior vice president of power and utilities.



Consulting


DHR International, a Chicago-based global executive search firm, hired Ronald C. Hendrixson as executive vice president and member of the Advanced Technology Practice in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Hendrixson was previously founder and president of his own executive search firm.



Entertainment


Lifetime Entertainment Services Inc., a joint venture of Burbank-based Walt Disney Co. and New York-based Hearst Corp., named Susanne Daniels president of entertainment at Lifetime. Daniels was formerly programming head at WB Television Network in Burbank.



Health Care


City of Hope in Duarte hired Brenda Maceo as senior vice president of communications. She was previously associate vice president at the University of Southern California and senior associate dean for Keck School of Medicine of USC in Los Angeles.



Law


Brown Winfield & Canzoneri Inc. in Los Angeles hired Penny Pittman Cobey as senior counsel. Cobey was formerly associate general counsel at the Los Angeles Unified School District.


Quateman & Zidell LLP, a Los Angeles-based law firm specializing in corporate, finance and real estate law, hired Edward J. “Ted” Callow as an associate attorney. Callow previously was a general attorney at the Los Angeles office of the Internal Revenue Service.

Stuart Holden, Ronald S. Lushing and Bruce M. Ramer were elected to the board of KCET. Holden is director of the Louis Warschaw Prostate Cancer Center at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Lushing is the principal of Ronald S. Lushing Associates in Beverly Hills. Ramer is a partner in the law firm of Gang Tyre Ramer & Brown in Beverly Hills.

The Cure FD Foundation, a Brentwood-based organization dedicated to the prevention and cure of the neurological disorder familial dysautonomia, named Howard S. Klein to its board. Klein is a partner at the law firm Feinberg Mindel Brandt Klein & Kline LLP in Los Angeles.
