David Powell and Richard Snelson have been named principal at Ernst & Young LLP. Powell is a member of Ernst & Young’s transaction advisory services practice. Snelson will be the Pacific Southwest area tax operations leader.

Architecture

Duncan Todd joined the Los Angeles office of Leo A. Daly as project manager of the Rain Forest of the Americas exhibit and Reptile & Insect Interpretive Center at the Los Angeles Zoo. He was previously director of business development at Lee & Sakahara AIA Inc. Judy Johnson also joined the company as principal and director of business development. Most recently, she was vice president of URS Corp.

Nadel Architects Inc. appointed Michael Leberman, Joan Frei, Chris Lee, Harris Shapiro and David Smith to vice president and Tina Tayag to associate vice president. Previously, Leberman, Frei, Lee, Shapiro, and Smith were associate vice presidents at the company and Tayag was an associate.

Banking

Wayne-Kent Bradshaw has joined Washington Mutual as Southwestern regional president of community and external affairs. Previously, Bradshaw was president and chief executive of Family Savings Bank.

Consulting

EYP Mission Critical Facilities Inc. named Richard Greco director of critical facilities assurance. Most recently, he was managing principal of EYP’s operations consulting group.

Towers Perrin elected Jack Marsteller, leader of the executive compensation practice, a principal of the company. Prior to joining Towers Perrin, he was a principal and managing consultant at Hewitt Associates.

Communications

CCG appointed David A. Nufer vice president of business development. Previously, he was chief marketing executive for AeroVironment.

Education

Susan Way-Smith has been named a senior fellow at the UCLA School of Public Policy and Social Research. She is currently president and chief executive of Urban Education Partnership.

The USC School of Theatre named Oliver Mayer assistant professor. Mayer, a Los Angeles playwright, will be a lead faculty member in the school’s newly expanded MFA program in playwriting.

Entertainment

Michael Sakin was named senior vice president, sales and distribution at Game Show Network. He was previously senior vice president of advertising sales.

Sesac Inc. promoted Pat Rogers to senior vice president, corporate relations and artist development. Rogers was previously senior vice president, writer/publisher relations. She will continue to manage the company’s Los Angeles office.

Level 3 Post named Derik Herr as editor. He will do final editing for the Showtime series, “The Freshman Diaries.” Herr previously worked for the Post Group, Hollywood.

Government

Tony Gioiello and Shaun Shahrestani were named chief harbor engineers at the Port of Los Angeles. Gioiello will head the engineering division and Shahrestani will head the construction management division.

Bruce Saito was named to the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy Advisory Committee. Saito is executive director of the Los Angeles Conservation Corps.

Health

The National Medical Association named Randall W. Maxey, M.D. president. Maxey is a nephrologist in private practice in Los Angeles.

Law

Richardson & Harman LLP have hired Richard Moore as senior counsel to the firm. Previously, Moore was a senior associate with Wolfe & Wyman in Pasadena.

Rich Arshonsky and Steve Kurtz, shareholders of Levinson & Kaplan, have been added to the nameplate of the company. The firm will now be known as Levinson Kaplan Arshonsky & Kurtz, APC. Arshonsky has been a litigator at the firm and Kurtz was previously a partner at Greenberg & Bass.

Harry R. Stang of Bryan Cave LLP was appointed fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.

Non-Profit

A Community of Friends Inc. appointed Jeff Ong-Siong and Marc Binenfeld to its board. Ong-Siong is a partner at RBZ LLP and Binenfeld is portfolio manager at Property Management Associates.

Sonia Hernandez joined the Urban Education Partnership as director of the California Institute of School Boards. Hernandez was formerly president and chief executive of the Los Angeles County Alliance for Student Achievement.

The Fulfillment Fund appointed Phaizon Wood vice president of programs. He previously worked as an administrative director of the Westside Waldorf School in Santa Monica and a lecturer at Cal State Northridge.

WISE Senior Services named Nancy Hayes as president and chief executive. Hayes was formerly the head of the Starbright Foundation.

Real Estate

Charles Dunn Real Estate Management Services promoted William Wenger to regional vice president of the Los Angeles region from vice president.

Morlin Management Corp. has named Jeffrey Gunther senior vice president. He was previously president of Charles Dunn Real Estate Services Inc.

PS Business Parks Inc. named Joseph D. Russell Jr. chief executive and a director. He has been president of the company since September 2002.

Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Brokerage Co. named David Holstein, Matthew Wenzel and Donald Whitehurst senior investment associates. Holstein joined the firm in 1997 and is a multi-family investment specialist. Wenzel specializes in apartment investments and joined the firm in 1995. Whitehurst joined in 1992. He specializes in Southern California apartment and retail properties.

Restaurants

Eric Klein was named executive chef at Maple Drive. He previously was sous chef at Spago Beverly Hills.

Technology

Aldo Pichelli has been named senior vice president and chief operating officer of the electronics and communication segment of Teledyne Technologies Inc. James Davis has taken over in Pichelli’s previous role as vice president and general manager of Teledyne Instruments. Prior to joining Teledyne, Davis was vice president of the electronic components group at Bourns.

Ellipsys Technologies appointed Gene Pester general manager. Pester had previously been technical director and chief technical officer.

SeeBeyond Technology Corp. appointed Thomas F. O’Gorman vice president of professional services, Americas. Prior to joining SeeBeyond, O’Gorman served as chief executive of Cohesion Inc.

3D Systems Corp. named Charles W. Hull interim chief executive. Hull, the company’s co-founder, will continue to serve as chief technical officer.

CaminoSoft Corp. named Steven M. Spector chairman and named its chief executive, Stephen Crosson a director. Spector replaces Walter Kornbluh, who retired as chairman but will continue to serve as a director and consultant.

Canoga Perkins Co. hired Brett Blanke as Western regional sales manager. Blanke has managed direct and reseller sales on a regional and national level for Alcatel, Chromatic Technologies and Wesco.
