Nadine L. Padawer has joined Los Angeles-based Campbell-Ewald as senior vice president and director of account planning. She previously was with TBWA/Chiat Day.

Jeffrey Mandell has been appointed chief financial officer at Santa Monica-based Mercury Media. He will be responsible for all financial operations and business affairs for the company. Mandell previously served as chief financial officer at Marson Gold LLC. Mercury Media is a full-service media management organization.

Architecture

Gerald Palmer Smith has been promoted to associate principal at Houston-based Morris Architects. He remains director of the regional office in Culver City, which was established in 1997 to serve the entertainment industry. Morris Architects provides services in planning, architecture, interior design and graphic design.

Banking & Finance

Patricia Morrow has been appointed senior vice president of commercial real estate lending at First Federal Bank of California. She will be based at the Santa Monica headquarters. Morrow will be responsible for all aspects of commercial real estate at the bank, including new loan production for retail, office, industrial and multifamily properties. Morrow previously was manager of First Federal Bank’s real estate-owned department, which she originated in 1991.

Mark D. Orlando has been appointed vice president to establish the Los Angeles office of LaSalle National Bank. The bank has its headquarters in Chicago. Orlando previously provided commercial loans to middle-market businesses, most recently with Bank of New York Financial Corp.

Ron Summers has been appointed senior vice president and manager of the operations services group at Imperial Bank, the principal subsidiary of Imperial Bancorp. Summers, who will be based at the Los Angeles headquarters, will be responsible for managing the change management department of the operations services group. He previously was vice president of U.S. Bancorp’s retail integration team in Portland, Ore.

Darell Krasnoff has joined Bel Air Investment Advisors LLC as managing director at its Los Angeles headquarters. Krasnoff previously was head of private client services for Goldman Sachs’ Los Angeles office. Bel Air Investment Advisors specializes in managing investments for high-net-worth individuals and families, foundations and trusts.

Dan Sanford has been appointed managing director of investment banking at Wedbush Morgan Securities. He will be based at the Los Angeles office and will focus on expanding business opportunities in the health care sector. Sanford previously served as vice president and senior banker at Citicorp.

Consulting

Ehud G. Mouchly has joined Price Waterhouse as managing director in the firm’s real estate services group. Based in the Los Angeles office, Mouchly will direct consulting services for large-scale, mixed-use development and redevelopment projects. He previously was founder and principal of Kotin Mouchly Group Consulting.

Engineering

Richard C. Leach has been appointed vice president at PSI. Based at the Woodland Hills regional office, he will be responsible for overseeing environmental and facilities operations in the California region. Leach formerly was chief engineer for Law/Crandall, a division of Law Engineering Environmental Services.

Entertainment

Robert Billeci has been named executive director of worldwide satellite operations at the digital studios division of Sony Pictures Entertainment. Based at the Culver City headquarters, Billeci will provide technical support for overall SPE corporate development plans as well as new channel launches for Columbia TriStar International Television.

Brady Craine has been promoted to the newly created position of senior director of trade events for the Los Angeles-based American Film Marketing Association. In her new position, Craine will continue to be responsible for the day-to-day operations of AFMA. In addition, she will oversee AFMA’s regional markets program as well as the association’s participation at major TV markets and other trade events. Craine formerly was an account coordinator for Boardman, Braun & Farrow Inc., a San Francisco advertising agency.

Grace Newman has been promoted to vice president of national field marketing for Windham Hill Group, one of the core labels of BMG Entertainment North America, a unit of BMG Entertainment. He will help manage the overall marketing of each artist as well as the corporate direction of the company. Newman previously was senior director of field marketing.

Marcy Ross has been promoted to senior vice president of creative affairs for Los Angeles-based Jim Henson Television. She will oversee all aspects of prime-time television programming, including the conceptualization, development and production of new series, movies for television and specials. Based in Los Angeles, she will also be responsible for the oversight of children’s programming. Ross previously was vice president of creative affairs. In addition, Halle Stanford Grossman has been promoted to vice president of creative affairs. She will be responsible for the creative oversight of direct-to-video children’s programs. Grossman previously was director of creative affairs.

Peter Strauss has been named president of Lions Gate Entertainment Inc., a newly formed U.S. subsidiary that will serve as the parent company to all of Lions Gate Entertainment’s U.S. corporations. Strauss will have corporate oversight responsibility for Lions Gate’s U.S.-based motion picture activities. Previously, Strauss served as chairman, CEO and president at International Movie Group.

Paul Provenzano has been promoted to vice president of production and development at Beverly Hills-based Fox Interactive. In his expanded role, he will oversee the production and development of all Fox Interactive and Fox Sports Interactive titles. In addition, Scott Marcus has been promoted to the newly created position of vice president of worldwide promotions and strategic alliances. He will be responsible for all third-party promotions and strategic business relationships supporting all Fox Interactive releases. Also, Dave Rech has been appointed vice president of interactive sales for Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. He will oversee the interactive sales staff and be responsible for developing customer relationships and driving all of the company’s North American sales efforts.

High Tech

Richard P. Fedchenko has been appointed executive marketing consultant to the senior management team at Torrance-based Helisys Inc. He will be responsible for planning and executing strategy and the development of marketing programs. Fedchenko formerly was vice president of strategy and market development for 3D Systems. Helisys develops and builds automated rapid prototyping systems.

Michael A. Giardello has been named executive vice president and chief technical officer at Pasadena-based Advanced Sports Materials. Giardello previously founded Giardello & Associates, a technology development consulting corporation. Advanced Sports Materials is a materials science and technology company.

Manufacturing

Graham R. Cundick has been appointed senior vice president of marketing and chief marketing officer at Torrance-based Viking Office Products Inc. Cundick previously was vice president of European merchandising.

Real Estate

Stuart R. Essery has been promoted to senior vice president of Los Angeles-based Cushman Realty Corp. He previously was vice president. Essery will continue to act as chief financial officer and as vice president of Cushman Investment and Development Corp., and president of Cushman Management Corp. Essery formerly was president of Nor’Wood Investments.

Michael D. Foxworthy has joined Los Angeles-based Daum Commercial Real Estate Services as senior vice president and director of office services.

Frederick Gortner has been promoted to senior vice president at William E. Simon & Sons Realty Group. Gortner formerly was a principal with two Los Angeles-based real estate firms, the Tucker Investment Group Inc. and Enterprise Management Inc. In addition, David L. Gold has joined the company as a vice president. Gold, who has experience in financing, structuring and closing real estate deals, previously was a senior manager at Obayashi Corp., a general contractor and developer. Gold and Gortner will both be based at the William E. Simon & Sons Los Angeles office.
