Elliott S. Ewing and Philip J. Koehler were appointed senior managers at Deloitte & Touche in Los Angeles. Ewing will work directly with clients at the multi-state tax services group and was formerly a tax counsel specialist at the Franchise Tax Board in Sacramento. Koehler will work with clients at the employee benefits tax services group and was most recently of counsel at Morrison & Foerster in Irvine. Also, G. Paul Glunt and Douglas A. Jankowski were named seniors at the firm. Glunt will prepare client tax returns for the international tax services group and was previously a senior tax consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Jankowski will prepare client tax returns for the financial counseling services group and was formerly with Strategic Information Systems.

Brad Mello was named director of computer and information services at Zdonek & Wolowicz Accountancy Corp. in Torrance. He will be responsible for assisting clients on technology issues and managing internal computer systems. Mello was previously an independent computer consultant.

Sarah O’Leary was appointed vice president of marketing for the Regan Group in Culver City. She will be responsible for broadening the firm’s client base and managing its growth while overseeing marketing and advertising for entertainment clients. O’Leary was most recently a marketing consultant and project director at Hungry Wolf Marketing in New York.

Beth Braen was promoted to senior vice president of creative services at the National Association of Television Program Executives in Santa Monica. She will be involved with strategic planning and will continue to oversee promotion and advertising and serve as public relations liaison. Braen was most recently director of creative services.

Automotive

James C. Morton Jr. was appointed senior vice president of administration and finance at Nissan North America in Torrance. He will oversee all finance, human resources, business strategy, corporate communications and information systems for North American operations. Morton was most recently vice president of public relations and government affairs for Michelin Tire Corp. in Canada.

Entertainment

Jon Feltheimer was named chief executive and vice chairman of Lions Gate Entertainment in Los Angeles. He will be responsible for growing business by expanding production capabilities, extending the distribution network and exploring the digital market. Feltheimer, who had most recently served as a strategic advisor to Lions Gate, was previously executive vice president at Sony Pictures Entertainment in Culver City.

Lisa Haller was appointed senior vice president of sales at Universal Studios Hollywood. She will be responsible for integrating sales strategies for travel, special event, and corporate and special markets while being involved with product development, telemarketing and e-commerce strategy. Haller was previously vice president of sales for Homestead Village Guest Studios.

Gary Marsh was promoted to executive vice president of original programming at Disney Channel in Burbank. He will oversee development and production for all original movies, series, specials and documentaries. Marsh was most recently senior vice president of original programming. Also, Tina Treadwell was promoted to vice president of talent and alternative programming. She will continue to oversee all talent development and casting and will supervise development and production of all music specials and alternative programming. Treadwell was previously executive director of talent development and music specials.

LeeAnne Stables was appointed senior vice president of marketing at GameWorks, a video game and entertainment center chain based in Universal City. She will be responsible for all marketing activities, including brand strategy, advertising, promotions, public relations, corporate partnerships and sales. Stables was most recently head of promotions at E! Networks.

Health Care

Patricia Modrzejewski was named executive director of foundations for the San Fernando Valley service area of Providence Health System in Burbank. She will be responsible for the Providence St. Joseph and Providence Holy Cross Medical Center foundations. Modrzejewski was most recently vice president of development for Northridge Hospital Foundation.

High Tech

Victoria White was appointed vice president of legal affairs at Acacia Research Corp., a Pasadena-based Internet and technology business incubator. She will advise the firm on legal matters. White was most recently with University Access.com.

Law

Jonathan M. Brenner and John V. Pridjian were named partners at Sidley & Austin in Los Angeles. Brenner specializes in employment, labor law and litigation and Pridjian concentrates on tax matters. Both were most recently associates with the firm.

William E. Finkelstein, Mark A. Neubauer and Lucia E. Coyoca were named partners at Alschuler Grossman Stein & Kahan in Los Angeles. Finkelstein concentrates on trademarks, unfair competition and licensing law and was most recently vice president and intellectual property counsel at PepsiCo Inc. Neubauer specializes in real estate, entertainment, employment and other commercial litigation and was previously a shareholder in Stern, Neubauer, Greenwald & Pauly. Coyoca represents film and TV production companies, real estate developers, and apparel, housewares and cosmetics manufacturers. She was most recently a partner with Mitchell, Silberberg & Knupp.

Ten & #233; Harris-Duckworth was promoted to director of broadcast operations at KCET-TV Channel 28 in Hollywood. She will be involved with the station’s digital conversion and will continue to oversee all broadcast operations. Harris-Duckworth was previously associate director of broadcast operations.

New Media

Jeremy P. Anwyl was appointed chief operating officer at Edmunds.com, a Santa Monica-based online informational resource for car buyers. He will be responsible for overseeing the company’s business operations and development. Anwyl previously founded Marketec Systems in Santa Ana. Also, Charles E. Farrell was named chief financial officer for the firm. He will oversee day-to-day financial operations. Farrell was most recently chief financial officer at Gulistan Carpet.

Joel P. Gaynor was appointed senior vice president of marketing and sales at 3Dshopping.com, a Los Angeles e-commerce technology company. He will be responsible for expanding the market for the firm’s services to include manufacturers, retailers and service providers. Gaynor previously headed merchandising campaigns for products based on the movies “Jurassic Park” and “The Mask of Zorro.”

Tom Govreau was named chief financial officer at BizRate.com, an online e-commerce rating guide based in Los Angeles. He will oversee and manage the firm’s financial and administrative activities. Govreau was most recently chief financial officer at Sandpiper Networks.

Laurie Hollinger was named vice president of human resources at Broadband Sports in Los Angeles. She will be responsible for all human resources activities. Hollinger was most recently vice president of human resources for Digital Domain in Venice.

David L. Meister was named chief executive at Seniorlife.com, a community Web site for seniors based in Los Angeles. He will be responsible for growing the site through content upgrades and initiating strategic alliances. Meister was formerly senior vice president at Home Box Office.

Tom Platt was appointed vice president of marketing and business development at Elite.com, a Los Angeles firm that provides Internet-based time tracking and billing services to small professional firms. He will be responsible for developing and executing marketing initiatives and forging strategic alliances. Platt was previously director of corporate legal services at Elite Information Systems.

Joseph Varraveto was named chief financial officer at ememories.com, an online photo service based in Santa Monica. He will be responsible for financial affairs. Varraveto was previously acting chief financial officer at Air4less.com.

Real Estate

Jack Schlaifer was appointed executive vice president of RJ Feder & Associates in Calabasas. He will oversee junior associates and conduct leasing and sales of office, industrial and investment properties. Schlaifer was previously a vice president at Lee & Associates.
