Ron Cohen has been named vice president, producer and director at Los Angeles-based Another Large Production. Cohen previously worked with ALP on a freelance basis. He will be responsible for producing and directing broadcast promotional campaigns for current ALP projects. In addition, Donna Higgins has been named vice president of production. Higgins will oversee the development and production of ALP’s promotional activities in the domestic and international television arenas.

Jay Cole has joined the Manhattan Beach office of Big Bang Media as executive vice president of marketing. He will oversee advertising sales, research, licensing of technology, development of strategic alliances and database expansion. Cole was previously vice president of the youth division at Petersen Publishing Co.

Martin Gueulette, creative director and co-founder of Ikon Creative Services, has been appointed executive vice president and creative director for Creative Domain Design, the result of a merger between Creative Domain and Ikon. In addition, Dean Blagg will join Creative Domain’s audio/visual division, where he becomes senior vice president and executive producer. He previously was audio/visual director and co-founder of Ikon.

Leslie Salmon has joined the Los Angeles office of JWT Specialized Communications as managing director. Her responsibilities will include managing and building the client base in employment communications. Salmon joins the agency from BSA in Los Angeles with over 11 years of recruitment advertising experience.

Architecture

Jack Bouvrie has been named senior vice president at Los Angeles-based Nadel Architects Inc. Bouvrie establishes the design direction of different project types at Nadel. R. Michael Walden has also been named senior vice president. He has worked extensively on landmark institutional projects. His current work includes the design for extensive renovation of 1100 Glendon Ave. in Westwood.

Entertainment

Suzanne Criley has been promoted to senior vice president of human resources for Sony Pictures Entertainment. Criley previously served as an attorney with Rintala, Smoot, Jaenicke and Brunswick, specializing in employment and entertainment labor law.

Jim Fredrick has joined Warner Bros. Theatrical Marketing as senior vice president of creative advertising. Most recently, Fredrick was president of marketing for Castle Rock Entertainment. In his new post, he will continue creating advertising materials for all Castle Rock product as well as for other Warner Bros. motion pictures.

Nick La Terza has been named senior vice president and head of West Coast legal and business affairs for Alliance Pictures. La Terza will oversee all day-to-day business, legal and administrative matters for the company’s Los Angeles-based film divisions, Alliance Pictures and Le Monde Entertainment. Previously, he served as head of business affairs at Largo Entertainment.

Matt Loze has been named executive vice president of drama, longform and international television on North American productions for Pearson Television. Loze will be based in Pearson Television’s West Coast headquarters in Santa Monica. He joined Pearson from Trilogy Entertainment Group, where he served as vice president of television.

Mitchell Solomon has been hired as president of North Hollywood-based Film Roman Inc.’s new feature film division. Solomon joins Film Roman from Filmcolony, where he was senior vice president of production.

Mindy Strauss has joined the Santa Monica offices of Mad River Post as producer. Strauss will be doing production for editors based in Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco. Previously, she was with Mojo/LA Inc.

Health Care

Leslie D. Michelson and Jacqueline Kosecoff have joined the Santa Monica headquarters of Protocare Inc. as chairman and co-chief executive and president and co-chief executive, respectively. Both Michelson and Kosecoff were among the founders of Value Health Sciences, a developer of science-based software tools that now operates as Protocare Sciences, one of the two major lines of business operated by Protocare Inc.

High Tech

Kevin Scully has been appointed managing director of Santa Monica-based Candle Corp.’s new financial industry solutions group. Scully was most recently president of Neon International.

Law

Linda Hazelton has been appointed to the Los Angeles office of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP as director of client services. Her responsibilities will include overseeing the firm’s client-focused account service and best practices programs, as well as public relations. Previously, Hazelton was the director of client services at an international law firm in New York.

Craig Stuppi has relocated to Bronson, Bronson & McKinnon’s Los Angeles office. Stuppi will continue to practice in the areas of debtor’s and creditor’s rights. In addition, Sarah Stuppi, also a partner in Bronson’s insolvency practice, has relocated to the firm’s Los Angeles office. Her practice emphasizes creditors’ rights in bankruptcy and she has served as counsel to numerous unsecured creditors’ committees, secured creditors and trustees in business reorganizations.

Manufacturing

Michael G. Angel has joined Pacoima manufacturing firm Astro Arc Polysoude Inc. as vice president of international business development. Angel comes from Digital Sound Corp. in San Diego, where he served as the business development executive responsible for major account acquisitions. Also, Charles W. Glibert is the new regional sales manager for the Southeast U.S. Previously, he was a welding engineer at Babcock and Wilcox Co., where he developed welding programs and supervised welding operations. In addition, Jeffrey A. Mann has joined the firm as regional sales manager for the Midwest and Northeast U.S. Formerly, Mann served as project manager at PCI Energy Services, where he was responsible for managing a wide range of pipe welding projects.

Cameron Mogadam has been appointed to the newly created position of director of quality systems for Precision Specialty Metals Inc., a Los Angeles stainless steel and alloy conversion mill. Mogadam will be responsible for all quality assurance systems. He formerly was a quality assurance specialist for Boeing Aerospace division in Long Beach.

Public Relations

Eric Foley has been promoted to vice president at Pasadena-based Russ Reid Co. He will oversee the largest fund-raising program for rescue missions in the United States. A former inner-city pastor, Foley was previously director of mass fund raising at the Los Angeles Mission. Also, Jacqui Groseth has been promoted to senior account executive. Groseth has been with Russ Reid for four years, serving clients such as Lutheran Hour Ministries and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Joshua Gertler has joined Fleishman Hillard’s Los Angeles-based California public affairs group as managing supervisor. Prior to joining the firm, Gertler was an account supervisor at Hill & Knowlton Los Angeles, where he managed strategic communications and corporate positioning for several of the agency’s clients.

Real Estate

Frank M. Rivas has been named director of real estate services at El Segundo-based United Systems Integrators Corp. Rivas will be responsible for managing strategic planning, facility procurement and disposition for USI’s corporate accounts in the Southwestern United States. He formerly was a senior associate with Grubb & Ellis. In addition, Robert A. Stratton has been named director of design and construction services. He will be responsible for the delivery of project management, planning, design and construction services for clients worldwide. Straton previously directed an architectural studio at the Santa Monica office of HOK Inc.

Scott Tobias has been named sales manager in Fred Sands Realtors’ Marina del Rey sales office. He became involved with Fred Sands when he and partner Karen Wass opened Fred Sands KW & Associates, a Bakersfield affiliate. Prior to that, Tobias was associated with Watson Realty, which he joined as sales manager and was later promoted to president.
