NBC Universal Picks Production Chief

NBC Universal said Sunday that it had promoted development chief Katherine Pope to head its television production studio, replacing Angela Bromstad.

Universal City-based NBC Universal Television produces several hit shows, such as “Heroes” and “The Office” for NBC, and “House” for Fox, but the network overall finished fourth place in ratings this past season.

The move follows a management shake-up last week in which NBC Chief Executive Jeff Zucker replaced NBC Entertainment head Kevin Reilly with producer Ben Silverman, who will oversee NBC’s programming as well as the studio.

Pope replaces Angela Bromstad, who stepped down from the job several months ago, and is expected to be appointed to another NBC Universal position.
