Just a few parting words about last week’s 20th anniversary issue.

At 120 pages, it was the largest paper the Business Journal ever produced and with it, more words and pictures. It also marked the first time a glossy cover was ever used.

Needless to say, we all worked our tails off in putting it together. And let me point out that there aren’t that many tails around here. As Publisher Matt Toledo is fond of pointing out, ours is a lean operation hardly the kind of newsroom you would expect to embark on a 20-year retrospective on how Los Angeles has changed.

Of course, we always tend to be overachievers whether it’s “Richest Angelenos” or “A Day in the Life of Los Angeles” or this week’s look at the “bad and the beautiful” of L.A.’s commercial real estate scene.

I am fortunate to have a tireless editorial and production team that goes above and beyond the call, not only for our 20th anniversary edition but every week of the year.
