Live Nation Inc. said Wednesday that it has entered into an agreement to acquire the majority of the live music assets of late Florida concert promoter Jon Stoll’s Fantasma Productions.
The acquisition includes two outdoor venues and two outdoor festivals. Lori Stoll, widow of Jon Stoll, will retain an interest in the company and will have a senior position in Live Nation’s Florida office, the Beverly Hills-based live entertainment venue operator said in a statement.
Included in the deal are the leases for Pompano Beach Amphitheatre and Grounds in Pompano and Mizner Park Amphitheater in Boca Raton, which have capacities of 2,900 and 3,500, respectively.
In Florida, Live Nation already holds interests in the House of Blues in Orlando, the Ford Amphitheatre in Tampa, Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, and the Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theatre in Miami.
Shares in Live Nation were down 2 percent to $10.79 in early trading Wednesday on the New York Stock Exchange.
